Was a direct fit for older unit with same model %23, but the discharge pipe is shorter on new unit. Reused old discharge pipe, worked great
Great product and service I love
I bought this 2 months ago. It has worked perfectly. Easy install. Only caveat is READ THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY. You must remove the dishwasher plug.
I was replacing a Badger 5 that had rusted out with another Badger 5. It was very simple since the new was identical to the old. The connection to the sink drain was reuseable. I had to disconnect the electric plug and reconnect it to the new disposal. The whole installation took less than half an hour.
I purchased a new Badger 500 to replace my aging 1/2 hp, model 5-71 disposal. The aging one was installed in 1992 and although it still worked, it developed a hole, which I had already patched once, but that it was time for replacement. I considered a 3/4 hp, but after examining the dimensions and repiping. I asked myself will this give better service than the old one that lasted 32 years? The answer was no! The new Badger 500 was an exact replacement (thank you Insinkerator) and didn't require plumbing modifications! The price was reasonable and my wife is satisfied.
Great appliance, and still fit my old one from 25 year ago on the sink mount. And can't believe my old one lasted 25 year. This is why I bought another one just like it.
Purchased to replace a Badger 500, old one was 14 year old. I'd recommend the Badger garbage disposal to a family member, easy install, workhorse and quite.
I bought this unit and have had the same units in the past. They last me 5 years and no longer. I have learned that you cannot throw chicken bones or even large amounts of ice cubes or you will break the maching and cause a leak.
The Walmart installation service, managed by Angi, is dreadful in my experience. Because I paid in advance, I was stuck trying to manage the installation process myself. The time specified for this was dictated without consulting me. That was made worse when no one showed up.
I had to exchanged the original 3 hp unit, as the inner side was making a rattling noise. The second unit, was installed by the plumber and made the same noise then it burned the electrical wires. I returned the unit to get a refund. I wonder if QC failed to inspect these units/bacth prior leaving the assembly line.
