An Ode to My New Garbage Disposal Unit

SolidWasteGuy December 5, 2021

Insinkerator Contractor 333 Of all occasions in twenty twenty one A moment stands out, comparable to none Inspired by a most ingenious proposal We decided to purchase a garbage disposal Despite the best efforts of mom and of dad, The children's selective eating habits had Left heaps upon heaps of food on their plates Dinners ended with percussive fork scrapes We found that this vicious cycle created A supply of food scraps that flowed, unabated. Carrots with ketchup, grilled cheese soaked in milk Untouched posole, egg bake and their ilk Pitched, tossed, and destroyed with much prejudice Along with the rice, beans and romaine lettuce The waste challenged our conservationist bent But by far the more egregious event Was the amalgam of atrocious aromas That blurred the vision, stung the coronas The waste bin served to amplify the stink Our proboscises cried for disposition in-sink Rewired electrical, outlets installed GFCI-protected, new switch on the wall Online tutorials–watched twice, of course “Install Contractor Model 300 ,” three-quarter horse Oh joy! Oh rapture! The first time we flushed Tater skins, hot dogs and mystery mush Better yet, the glee of the well-trodden farce Sticking one's hand in the hole, screaming “AAAARGH!” Much to the shock and chagrin of the witness Who wishes you'd quit playin' and do the darn dishes. Rubbish bags lift lighter, their burden reduced No longer harboring the rotten trash juice The absence of fumes gives our nostrils a break With reprieve from rancid, fatty bits of steak This verse is not sponsored, paid for, promoted By the manufacturer of the model reported But the dollars and under-sink rearranging Are a small price to pay for something life-changing Nor do we wish to brag and cause envy for Our brand-spankin' new Insinkerator

Lasted 19 years!

Capriole November 1, 2025

I bought this Quiet Pro 333 in 1996. It has operated just fine till now. That's 19 years....

Does the job

DavidP January 12, 2019

It's tough to rate a disposer after just a month's service, but from all indications this one does the job properly and has a powerful 3/4 HP motor, which probably is an asset to good operation. We like the quietness of the unit. An experienced plumber installed it for us, and he appeared to have very little problem with the job.

Replacement Unit

TheSander December 13, 2020

Had to replace our 10-year-old under-sink food disposal unit because it developed a leak around the exit pipe. Had it installed by our plumber. Unit has been in for about 3 weeks now. All seems fine; it works well & is pretty quiet. High quality components.

Love our new insinkerator!

Steve7849 November 21, 2020

While upgrading our countertops to quartz, and going with a single bowl undermount sink, we didn't think twice about replacing the garbage disposal too! While we have had great experiences with our previous Insinkerator disposals, we took the advice of our plumber, and went with an upgrade from our previous Insinkerator 1/2 H.P. Badger. The price to upgrade was a no-brainer, as the Contractor 333 went to 3/4 H.P., and also featured Stainless Steel components. We couldn't be happier, the Contractor 333 is incredibly Quiet, and grinds up food waste with ease! I am very cautious about what I put in the disposal, but I am confident that the Contractor 333 is up for anything that my Wife throws it's way!

Very satisfied.

WSPops24 May 12, 2019

The disposal was very easy to install. It runs fairly quietly. I was a bit concerned as it is a 3/4 hp replacing 1 1hp but it has handled everything we have thrown down it. I am very satisfied with this purchase. In the interest of transparency, I have no clue as to the innovations in this disposal but I had to pick something.

Took too long and extra drain pieces too install>

Flustgrated101 November 30, 2019

This unit replaced a 15 year old identical model number. The drain connection was lower necessitating trips to a supply house to purchase additional pipe and fittings to re-pipe the drains under the sink. This should have been pointed out in the instructions "THAT DIMENSIONS HAVE CHANGED FROM THE OLDER MODELS WITH THE SAME MODEL NUMBER"

Second one!!!

Robsavard January 21, 2019

This the second unit we installed...after years of abuse, wash cloths, spoons, broken glass, etc, the original finally died! It served us well! We saw no reason to pay more for a few bells and whistles, when we knew from experience what we had did the job...inspite of the abuse! So we simply replaces it with the same model! We're very happy with our decision... We recommend this unit...just don't abuse it and I'm sure it will give you many many years of good performance.

Hope this one last longer than the previous Badger 5

Pinkus December 7, 2018

The previous Badger 5 developed a small crack in the case after 5 years and had to be replaced. The similar Insinkerator before lasted 15 years. This one has SS parts and is suppose to last longer. It produces slightly less noise and was easy to install.. Also I tried several times to register the purchase on the web site and got no response after submitting my info. So I do not know if it was registered. I am pleased so far.

had to replace one that lasted only a few weeks

PacificAndy December 6, 2021

I can't say I'm much impressed by any disposal that only lasts 3 weeks. We had to get this model because the better one we wanted--a batch-feed Evolution--was not available. (COVID supply chain issues, I gather.) We had had the better one for about 7 years, and had one before that that lasted over ten years. This new one was clearly a disappointment. We're hoping that the current replacement model last longer. It seems to do a decent job, though it's a lot noisier than the batch feed models.
