This is the exact one that we needed and it was proving to be very difficult to find. It was such a relief to be able to stop searching and just be able to pick it up on our convenience and g err t back to having a fully functioning kitchen.
I have been an ISE fan for over 30 years. As a professional plumbing engineer and liscense plumber, ISE has always been a great product. The new Evolution series continues a great tradition of excellence. This product is very quiet, powerful and extremely easy to install. If I had to ding anything, it would be that the baffle is a bit too small allowing food particles to drain into the disposal. But I feel this is very minor and just personal opinion. I have already recommended this to a colleague, who himself has also purchased and loves it.
I never had a disposal before and purchased it for a kitchen remodel. Many of my friends and family who have used it when we are cooking together in the kitchen have remarked how quiet it is, compared to their builders grade disposal. I have an open kitchen to my family room and it never disturbs anyone watching television because it is that quiet. I would definitely recommend this product. I also had it professionally installed.
This is my 3rd insinkerator in 30 yrs. The first 2 my wife could plug up in a heartbeat. They were the smaller models. We have had this one a few mo. now and try as she may, not once. Not even celery or chicken skins.
The Evolution Essential was a leap of faith purchase for me. The cost was higher than other models but the features made the purchase stand out. I am very happy with the lack of noise from the unit. I can hardly hear the operation and there is no vibrations in the countertop when the unit is working. I like the fact that the unit reverses itself with every use, That is the cutting blades spin clockwise on the first operation then the next time the unit is operated the blades spin counter clockwise. The actual cutting blade should last twice as long. I also like the smaller size under the sink than the Kitchen Aid disposal that was replaced. I have more space for cleaning items, small battery recycling box and cat food stored under the sink. The removable drain cover is a nice touch as well and comes in handy when I need to use the full opening to drain water from a bucket. I enjoy cooking and the Evolution Essential disposal is one tool that I have not had to worry about after 3 months of operation. If you want a quality unit this disposal is worth the few dollars more in cost.
Really like this product. Easy to install. Insinkerator has been in my home for the last 40 years. If your going to spend your time and your money to buy a product always buy the best. Last one lasted 22 years. This one is super quiet and very easy to install. Out with the old and in with the new took me 45 minutes. Emerson Electric thanks for this high quality American made product.
I think this is a good product. It works good and is nice an quiet. I installed it myself. It is not complicated to install, but you may need a helper. I'm 73; try as I might I could not lift it up, push it over the sink nozzle, and turn the holding clamp by myself. However, I had no helper, so I got my car jack, made a little wooden platform to fit on top of it, put the disposal on that, and jacked the thing up and over the nozzle, then twisted the holding clamp. It took a couple trys. The plumbing part was not hard for me because I'm familiar with plumbing. My dishwasher disposal hose was much smaller than the 7/8 inch nozzle on the disposal so I had to make a special trip to the hardware store to get adapters to make the connection. Try to plan ahead for such.
I already had a problem with the unit. It sounded like a truck every time I used it. I had to have the plumber who installed it to come back out. He said that he encountered the same problem with another unit he had installed. He told me that he contacted Insinkerator but did not receive a positive response. This problem has only occurred this one time so far.
It arrived damaged. Im sure its a great product based on reviews and what CR gave it as a rating. Im getting a different insinkerator since I have a septic system. This will work out better anyway.
After 5 years I'm done. The spinning arms inside keep jamming because they do not spin and pivot freely. When an arm sticks the unit is no longer balanced and it shakes when operated. To get the unit back on track its necessary to unstick the arm with a steak knife.
