We had an Insinkerator garbage disposer since our kitchen remodel back in 2017. It made life easier in the kitchen for me as I am primarily the sous chef. So, when it died,the replacement was a 1HP Insinkerator. I easily installed it myself in about an hour with no issues. We love it!!! It is more powerful than the 1/2HP we previously had, but runs so much quieter!! Thank you Insinkerator.

This was the 4th or 5th Insinkerator I have owned and installed. What I want to say is the support people were great. The disposal was dead on arrival, which is a first for me, my last one worked every day for 30 years. Anyway, the company jumped all over it and sent me a new one in 5 days. And they sent me a free return label. New one is in and working great.

I own rental properties, so I (unfortunately!) replace disposals multiple times every year. I use the Evolution 1.0HP disposal because it has the best quality. It costs more than other disposals, but it also lasts longer than other disposals, meaning that I don't need to replace it as often. A relatively new feature is the lift-and-lock feature, and that feature makes the installation vastly easier. With the old technology, you had to lift the heavy disposal with one hand while using the other hand to align and rotate the mounting ring. With the new technology, I can use both hands to lift the disposal and twist it onto the mounting bracket. Once I secure the disposal to the bracket, I can then rotate it back to align with my drain pipe.

This replaced an older and less powerful model: no problem with the old one; just renovating the kitchen and it was 20 plus years old: new unit is quieter and chews up everything put to it.

started making a lot of noise 1 month in. nothing caught in it

Insinkerator replaced my Prestige-2 due to failure. It was replaced with the Evolution 55ss. I thought it would be equivalent, but it is so noisy. It says it's very quiet but nope. My previous disposal was so quiet.

I just had a new unit installed by a professional plumber and the unit leaks at the connection between the disposal and the drain pipe. The plumber came back and said he sees this problem all the time with this unit. The anti-vibration fitting is a HORRIBLE design. The plumber can not replace the flimsy spring clamp with a hose clamp or flexible discharge tube without voiding the InSinkErator warranty. Wow - so disappointed in this design!!!

Don't waste your time. I bought the Top of the line 1HP advanced. It is noisy and I just now tried out, it was installed today October 13th 2025. I put a squash down this unit and after 20 seconds I looked to see how it worked the squash was still there in the center. I don't like this unit at all. Even though you will read on the box it is quite it is far from quite. The older units were great. I wish my old one did not give out.
