We remodeled our kitchen, installed a granite composite sink with matching disposal flange and stopper. Looked beautiful until the finish started to peel six months later. Not what we expected when we paid so much more for matching hardware and took care not to expose the finish to anything abrasive...very disappointing!
I bought cheaper flanges in black to match my black sink and they all failed- the black came off to reveal the chrome color underneath. When we had to replace the garbage disposal and chose InSinkerator- we took that opportunity to upgrade the flange. Well this one held up longer than the others but ultimately the black color coating is coming off of this one as well. As a flange- it does what a flange does and is fine- I'm reviewing the finish because that is why I purchased it.
This is less than a year old and the finish is peeling. I'm not sure why I am reviewing this product when I see the same cookie cutter response from Insinkerator to the other reviews with the same issue. How about stand behind the product and replace it?
We installed the oil-rubbed bronze sink flange (FLG-ORB) during our kitchen remodel in April. In only 2 months, the finish on the flange started chipping and now it looks horrible. I am looking for a replacement of this product and would not recommend anyone buying this product. It looked good to start but we are very disappointed with the lack of quality.
Built new home and purchased the oil rub flange to match the faucet, looked great when we moved in Feb 2014, but shortly after that the finish started to chip and just the other night (11/18/14) while washing dishes and rinsing them off the finish just started to peal off. Very disappointed in this product.
We have a black sink and ordered the flange in matte black to match. Within 3 months of mild, residential use, the black started chipping off. The only solution that was given was that they would send another one out but that would probably chip again (and I'd have to pay to have a plumber install it again). EXTREMELY CHEAP PRODUCT. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Even though the flange is advertised with an "oil-rubbed bronze finish", the painted surface is very poor. This is my second flange in 10 months. Both started to peel only a few months after install. This is very disappointing. I do not recommend purchasing this product.
Sounds like this is a common problem with this flange. My installer contacted the company after our oil rubbed bronze flaked, and they said that they would replace it ONE time. I knew that we had not used any abrasives on it. I got the brushed stainless, to be safe, but we did not have it installed, as it would cost so much to have a plumber do it. Insinkerator-you have a real problem with this product, and it sounds like it has not been corrected. I am looking into replacing this with another brand, but don't know if it will fit. It ruins the look of a beautiful farmhouse sink!
This is my second attempt. They didn't like my first review so they told me to resubmit. I've had the flange one year before the finish started peeling. If I had read the reviews before I purchased I would have looked for another product. This is a poor quality product and I will make sure to inform my houseguests what brand it is.
Have your Insinkerator Food Waste Disposers the Pro 750 I have put 3 of them in my brand new home that I built. No surprise to you, the sink flange is pealing on all three. Started about 3 months after installation. I just spent an hour reading from your customers who all have the same complaint Disappointed to say the least.. but more sad that you can not resolve this problem. Hello? Does any one take to heart what customers say.. How about this.. Go back to engineering, then to the manufacturing plant in whatever country its mfg in and find the answer... My guess, poor quality control.. not preparing the flange properly before the final coating.. It's not like rocket science.. Clean your stuff before you coat it.. Or have it made in America
