This is a granulated product that lights under any conditions and stays lit for a long time. Makes fire starting easy every time. Each packet contains enough product to start 4 fires, so it's not cheap! But, I keep it with my camping supplies because it doesn't take up any room and would be indispensable in bad weather.
Best fire starter i have ever used! This stuff lights instantly and burns for awhile. I was skeptical at first but this stuff is amazing, and for one dollar its a steal! I only use about a tablespoon to get a fire going, all within a minute or two. I will definitely be stocking up on this stuff.
Works very well with very little product. It started two fires for us on very wet wood with at least half of the package still left. Will take on every camping trip from now on.
Lights fast to start your fire if time is a constraint or everything is wet. Burns well and is economical
I doubted this was going to work. Worked perfectly and took the stress out of lighting a campfire.
nice compact package. great for camping.
Used this on my last 5 overnight backpacking trips and it worked perfectly, i normally use whatever is around me and break it down but i was lazy and figured for 1$ in the store i would try it, great back up idea or for a bug out bag!
incredible stuff. wish they still sold it. never use more than a quarter bag and never fails to start my fires. Not sure about the complaints I'm reading here. maybe they're not using it correctly or got a bunk batch. I only wish I had bought more when they were selling it for a dollar a pack at Walmart in store. Now I see third party sellers selling the same small bag for $10.
Not a 4 pack. it is a 1 pack that says 4 uses. A 4 pack of an item is 4 units of the item., not the number of uses of each item. I knew this going into it, but it should not be advertised as a 4 pack. Once the pack is opened, you have quantity of material to work with and have to devise your own way of storing an unused portion.
This is the most worthless product ever. It is a marketing gimmick with no value. I took my grandson camping, and wanted a firestarter that was fool proof and guaranteed to get my fire started firsttime. Walmart had very few products on the shelf so I had the choice of fire starter fluid or this thing. I choose "Instafire Fire Starter" mainly because I remember seeing it on Shark Tank. That night in the thick of a wilderness, I pull out this product. I followed the directions and made my little graduated TeePee of their chips, twigs, branches and wood and lite this product. It burned with a flicker never reaching the enough heat or duration to get my stack of wood going. I used more and more, never getting it to ignite my stack of twigs, little branches and the wood that came with the packet. It was worthless. I said to myself, "an old newspaper would do better than this." I happened to have a newspaper in the car and used it the next night, using the same methodology that I had used the night before. The newspaper was a great firestarter . The Fire started in no time. The newspaper was free and took up a lot less room and weighed less. Do not buy this product. Almost anything else that will burn quickly is a better firestarter.
