Does the job!

HoustonH July 13, 2013

I really like this Jump Battery. I've already tested it and it works great. It's small enough to fit under the center console between the front seats of our Honda Odyssey where I keep it plugged into an inverter which keeps it charged up while driving. My wife is ill and I need the assurance that I can get the van started if I have to get her to the hospital. This unit fits my requirements perfectly.

Good 12 volt power source

xshoeguy November 20, 2020

My jump starter has 600 amps. I bought it to run a 12 volt fan. It ran for several hours longer than the instructions said it would based on watts used. Good unit!

It does what I wanted it for.

noona June 24, 2014

It had to be charged when I got it. It is light enough for a woman to carry it comfortably and got the car to start when I needed it.

Works!

Synderrela January 12, 2011

Works well - needs initial 36 hour charge out of the box per manual. Short jumper cable is a major downfall but definelty usable.

Smaller than I'd hoped

Nodak81 February 6, 2013

I haven't had a chance to try using this thing yet so my review is limited to other things. For starters, it is very small, it has me worried it can't do the job but it might surprise me. Another annoyance is that they don't include a 6 to 10ft charging cord with it, I find it irritating to have to break out a 50ft extension cable just to charge this thing.

Not user friendly

roadworker December 22, 2010

This could be a great product if it came ready to use. It does not have a power cord for charging the unit and it is extremely hard to find one that will stay plugged in. The prongs sticking out of the unit don't hold on to most power cords I tried several before I found one that would work. .

Lightweight item

Nicknomer December 4, 2015

The battery is smaller than most jump packs at 7AH, though it is the lightest sealed lead acid type out there with decent current output. It put out about 80A at 9.5V from a fully charged condition based on a load tester. The issue I seem to have with it is that the charger keeps cycling on and off even when it's fully charged, because the charger kicks on when the voltage drops to 13.1V, then in a few seconds, the voltage rises to 14.5 and the charge current shuts off again, allowing the battery to drop below the 13.1V after a few minutes, then kicks on again. Normally with most chargers, a small maintenance charge is applied on standby to keep it at about 13.2V where it'll remain indefinitely for storage. On this one, there is no maintenance current applied, causing it to continually cycle on and off. The speed that the voltage rises to 14.5V is unexpected also, normally associated with a weak battery. I had a Shumacher Mity Mite jump pack which lasted for many years before getting a bit weak, and I thought this was the same, but that one is a bit larger and has a 12AH battery, and the charger works without this constant cycling on and off. It does have a 12V accessory outlet to increase its utility, and the cables are decent gauge to minimize voltage drop when in use. This is good if size and portability is of utmost importance, but I wish they still made it the way the Mity Mite was.
