Excellent product. I put a clear polyacrylic coating (3 coats) on to protect the bench. It's beautiful and functional in our entryway.

This is the third piece of this line i have purchased, am very happy with them. First make sure all the screws are tight, i got a quarter on each one. Then run the bolts in the sunken fasteners to make sure of ease when you get ready to assemble.I stained mine with Watco danish oil finish - med walnut (follow instructions)18hr later- lite sand with 400 grit and then shot it with DEFT clear wood finish semi-gloss lacqure (4 lite coats) too heavy and it will sag. Then i assembled, let set 24hr and ready to go. Any finish goes good on this wood (rubber wood from Vietnam). There you go - for under a hundred and a little elbow grease you got a piece that will last for Generations.

I am using this bench along one side of my kitchen table, under a window. The wood inlay is so beautiful, I will stain it, as painting would ruin the inlay. .

Used it for the large bathroom, in a beach house. Great for families with little children having to use the large shower at once and needing to leave their necessary items on the ""bench"" for easy access after showering.

I have a very small kitchen and have used the 48"" bench for the sitting area and have used the shelf underneath for cookbooks. I plan to make cushions to match window treatment. I will also purchase another bench 36"" to make an ""L"" shaped sitting area and use that shelf for colorful mixing bowls etc. The bench is very sturdy and can be used in any room. I love it.

I bought this little bench to go in the entry of our new vacation cottage. Its simple, cottage feel works perfect as a convenient place to sit to remove/put on shoes when coming from outside. Shoes can be stored on the lower ledge as well as mittens and gloves in a wicker basket that I also keep on the lower ledge. Over all, it is the perfect bench, and the price was reasonable. I also like that I can stain or paint it to match my decor.

I Love this bench! Great quality & easy to put together.I'm thinking of painting it but leaving the top natural with a wax protector. Right now I have several plants on it. I've placed it in front of my atrium door in the back of my house. It looks so nice, it's low enough to still work for the plants & still let in that wonderful sunlight that the plants & I thrive on. I would buy this again & might buy another as a gift for my newly married daughter & her husband.

I got this bench in both the 36 and 48 inch and was not disappointed. They took the stain perfectly to match my table and looks great. They were easy to assemble and stains and the wood is heavy and solid. Heyneedle is amazing for great finds.

Needed a little bench for a little space. This is perfect. Heavy duty, beautiful wood and very sturdy. Will paint legs and ends and stain the top to match other fittings in the mud room.

I needed something small to sit on while putting on shoes in my foyer. At 36"" this fills the bill and it is high enough to make getting up easy. Eight screws and 16 washers put it together; holes lined up nicely. And it can be either used as is or painted/stained to make it a one-of-kind piece.
