Overall, a great pool for the price. But the pool can't just be used as is out of the box. You either have to buy chemicals for it or a saltater system. We got a saltwater system because the chemicals were going to cost about the same as the whole saltwater system. $115 for the system, $20 for the salt, $25 for filters that need changing every 2 weeks, and $40 for the intex pool cleaning kit. Be prepared to buy all these things. The ladder is kind of flimsy and wobbly when you're at the top. Fine for kids and myself but I know my mom or my husbands mom would have a really hard time with it. The ground cover is a jock, its so thin. We put down a thick tarp under it. Otherwise, great pool. Easy to set up.
Very impressed with this pool. It set up very easy. The most time-consuming part is leveling the ground. Took about eight hours to fill. Pump is whisper quiet. Ladder is a little wobbly but not to too bad. Make sure to get a solar cover and the maintenance kit.
The pool was easy and fun to assemble -- even the kids wanted to help!! There were no missing parts. We assembled it on the lawn, then 5 adults easily picked it up and moved it to the spot that we had carefully leveled using sand and 3/4" foam insulation prior to putting down the ground liner that came with the pool. Because the pool sits close to the house, there was no room to maneuver for assembly, nor did we want to disturb the prepared base. It should be easy to disassemble for the winter. Prior to assembling the pool, we opened the pool liner and let it sit in the sun for over an hour to make it more pliable when inserting the metal pool frame. That seemed to have been a good choice. The most time consuming part of the installation was preparing the ground where the pool would be sitting. We had to move hundreds of pounds of landscaping rocks, then leveling the ground which contained a lot of buried rocks. Instead of moving in two tons of sand which a lot of professionals would have done, we used about 20 bags of sand which filled in all the valleys, then, we laid down 8 - 8'X4' sheets of 3/4' insulation material from Home Depot ($80.00) That was very quick and easy, and should keep any buried rocks from working their way through the liner.
Upgrade to a sand pump and add a side skimmer. Level the ground and put wide supports under the legs. Then ENJOY!!!
Very easy to set up. Two adults easily can put this together. Maybe even just one. Depth is perfect, kids love it (12 & 13 yrs olds).
We had a pool similar to this for the last 4 years. When we moved, it didn't make it, so we purchased another. For ease of use and sanity, we do upgrade a few of its features I.e the cover and filter to other options from the local pool store. But for some cheap summer fun- can't be beat! I hope this new pool lasts another 4 years!
I only got this pool because the size fits my area. But if you have a little more space I recommend the 16 foot best way pool. its a little more heavy duty comes with a better filter system, and cleaning accessories. This pool does not include vacuum, net, hose, or skimmer you will have to buy all those separate with in the first week if you want a clean pool. My first purchase had a whole and Intex is a pain to deal with they want copys of the receipt and to fill out claim on line. it took about 2 weeks to get a new liner..
Pool is set up fine but walmart.com stated it would arrive by a specific date and was very late and all parties stated they had no clue where product was or how to locate it.
I received this item and was so excited. We set it up and started filling it up and it leaks. We found one hole but apparently it has several holes we can't find. Disappointed that a brand new pool has holes in it wasted $300.00.
I am so upset!!! Me and my husband prepared our yard for this pool. Leveled it. Made sure no rocks or sticks was on the lawn. We purchased foam for the bottom, that cost $42.25 plus tax. Then gather some family members to help put it up. Did all of this , just to start filling it up and discover we have a leak. I am so disappointed. Upset
