These are very well made. I do think they are a bit pricey. Wish they made these in clear. Doesn't have to be clear. At least something you could see through.
As soon as I got home and saw them I was like awe man. They're shiny which means a harder plastic but thinner so most likely if you drop one on a corner it will break but keep in mind I'm speculating from experiences with other totes. The lids kind of snap on but the plastic is the same. My biggest gripe is the bottoms. They have almost like feet on the corners shaped with the corners so if you put these on let's say a wired shelf like exactly what I bought them to put on, you can't slide them off because these corner feet get stuck in the shelf. You have to pick it up off the shelf period, not just one side and slide, pick it up. Therefore I can't load them up or I'll have problems especially when I keep my shelving height to a few inches above the next. If you have smooth shelves or plan on stacking these on the floor, you should be fine but that also depends on the weight you put in them I think. I'd recommend them for the average family but I'm not your average person or family. I don't know if they'll hold my spare parts in the basement and hate to try and worry about them breaking and causing more work if I have to clean up a mess. Clothing, food, toys, stuff like that should be okay.
the storage boxes are fine, hard plastic might crack with use but are ok for the price. I can't recommend however because the handle/ iatches do not attach well and constantly fall off.
The plastic is very cheap. I pulled these out of the box, and two of them had already cracked. I was dissapointed because the ones I bought from Costco a while back were much higher quality, and they looked the same online. Unfortunately, Costco was out of stock in the store. These are way overpriced for how cheaply made they are. Buy the ones from Home Depot, Costco, or Amazon instead. It may be a few more dollars, but they'll last way longer.
I purchased a six-pack of these tubs to be used as recycling bins. When I opened the box, half of the lid latches were in the bottom of the box. The other half fell off as soon as I touched the lids. I ended up having to modify every latch handle so it would work reliably. BAD DESIGN!!!!
So my problem is not with the item necessarily. Item arrived with a whole punched in side of box, shipping issue not the sellers fault. My issue arose when I then opened the box and there was ZERO packing material of ANY kind so the containers would have arrived smashed to heck either way, which big surprise they were(smashed). So I would not recommend as it was a giant waste of my time to go and return when they couldn't even pack it properly. annoying.
These are very thin, low quality totes. They are not made for heavy items. Use for dry storage only. The lids fit, but do not work. They do not snap shut and they do not have a clasp to keep the lid on. Thus, leaving your items exposed to the elements and critters. Only purchase is you do not plan on needing a lid to protect your items.
I am very disappointed. I ordered two sets of these and both sets came damaged. My order does not even show up to give me the option to return. I spent almost $100.00. I do not recommend these, at least through Walmart!!
Most of the locking handles either were broken when I got it or broke shortly after I put them into use and can’t be used. Very frustrating. I will not recommend them to anyone. Wish I could get my money back
Plastic is thin on these compared to larger black and yellow topped bins. 3 of the black sides that lock the bin tops closed, were broken/ thought they were an easy snap on when I found them lose on the top bin. But the tiny plastic piece that fits in hole to snap in were broken. Would not recommend.
