This is perfect for my age to be able to fill it up and store it. I wanted something not too heavy to lift after I fill it. Stackable makes it very convenient.
I ordered 2 sets one arrived in good condition, the other one, the box had been retaped and the box looked like it went through a war and 2 of the containers were damaged, one broken locking handle and the other handle was missing altogether!
These are very well made. I do think they are a bit pricey. Wish they made these in clear. Doesn't have to be clear. At least something you could see through.
These bins are fragile, easily broken! Had to use them due to the moving date, with duct tape! 3 were cracked when they arrived to me. I don't recommend them at all.
Though these appear to be heavy duty, they most assuredly are not. The plastic is very thin and brittle, and the lids never seem to fit quite like they should. I can fiddle with them enough to eventually get them closed, but it's a task. One of the totes arrived with a chunk missing and a large crack rendering it unusable, but the only option I was given was to return the whole set, but I had already gotten a few of them loaded and stored, so that was not an option. Honestly, I've gotten sturdier totes from the dollar stores and quite a bit less expensive at that.
As soon as I got home and saw them I was like awe man. They're shiny which means a harder plastic but thinner so most likely if you drop one on a corner it will break but keep in mind I'm speculating from experiences with other totes. The lids kind of snap on but the plastic is the same. My biggest gripe is the bottoms. They have almost like feet on the corners shaped with the corners so if you put these on let's say a wired shelf like exactly what I bought them to put on, you can't slide them off because these corner feet get stuck in the shelf. You have to pick it up off the shelf period, not just one side and slide, pick it up. Therefore I can't load them up or I'll have problems especially when I keep my shelving height to a few inches above the next. If you have smooth shelves or plan on stacking these on the floor, you should be fine but that also depends on the weight you put in them I think. I'd recommend them for the average family but I'm not your average person or family. I don't know if they'll hold my spare parts in the basement and hate to try and worry about them breaking and causing more work if I have to clean up a mess. Clothing, food, toys, stuff like that should be okay.
the storage boxes are fine, hard plastic might crack with use but are ok for the price. I can't recommend however because the handle/ iatches do not attach well and constantly fall off.
So my problem is not with the item necessarily. Item arrived with a whole punched in side of box, shipping issue not the sellers fault. My issue arose when I then opened the box and there was ZERO packing material of ANY kind so the containers would have arrived smashed to heck either way, which big surprise they were(smashed). So I would not recommend as it was a giant waste of my time to go and return when they couldn't even pack it properly. annoying.
These are very thin, low quality totes. They are not made for heavy items. Use for dry storage only. The lids fit, but do not work. They do not snap shut and they do not have a clasp to keep the lid on. Thus, leaving your items exposed to the elements and critters. Only purchase is you do not plan on needing a lid to protect your items.
arrived then i opened the box, removed the 6 lids an the top 2 totes are broken 1 has a crack from top to bottom of the tote.the other the whole support(for the lid) is broken off!!
