[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good standby soap. I still have friends who use this. It has one of the cleanest scents I‰Ûªve ever experienced with soap, and it‰Ûªs more affordable than most clean soap brands. I would recommend this to most men and anyone who wants a simple, clean wash, no additional bells and whistles.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the refreshing smell of original Irish springs. I love how clean I feel after I use it. One con is that we leave it in a soap dish in our shower, and when water gets in the dish and sits there for a bit the soap ends up getting very slimy and feels sort of gross
Iv been a fan for years it seems like the original has changed again new packaging and weird smell with a different color green and now gives me breathing problems. Not happy this is my favorite soap and one that doesnt bug my sensitive skin. Please go back to the old scent.
The changed smell is repulsive. I was a loyal Irish Spring customer for decades. Marketing classes had been teaching about the "New Coke" debacle since the 1980s. Now they can add your New Irish Spring soap to the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" list of marketing failures. Whoever convinced your executives this would be a good idea should be fired. Bring back the original WITHOUT that crappy flaxseed oil and I'll buy it again. Until then, Zest works as a substitute.Oh, and quit LYING that that "original" is original. You are bucking for a class action lawsuit.
I recently restocked my Irish Spring bar soap (marked "Original) and also purchased some IS Original Body Wash. Boy, was I disappointed. Neither Product had any aroma at all! Not even a hint of smell. The wonderful smell is the soul reason I have always used Irish Spring. I LOVE the smell!! I won't be purchasing Irish Spring products again. I may as well use Ivory Soap!
I've always loved Irish Spring. We had a big package of bars in our house that lasted us for years. But this summer we used the last bar and I went and bought more -- pleased to see it labeled "original." But when I got back home and opened the first box I found it smelled nothing at all like the product I had so long loved. And to call this lousy new soap "original" verges on unethical. At least Coca Cola when they made the disastrous decision to introduce "new Coke," labeled it as new and did not try to dupe customers. I will never buy your product again... unless you go back to the scent that brought your product to prominence.
The new, heavy pine-note fragrance is terrible. I'd been using Irish Spring since at least the early 80s, and I'd purchased a 24-pack in late 2021. Recently purchased a misleadingly named, 'original' scent and was instantly repulsed. This smell is definitely bug spray-like, or a strong cleaning chemical. I'm forced to become a disloyal customer. Go read up on the New Coke fiasco.
Like many others, I have used Irish Spring bar soap for decades and I never thought about switching. Well, a few years ago I bought some and immediately noticed the smell was off, and the soap felt kind of slimy and seemed to leave an oily feeling on my skin. I tried using it a couple more times hoping that I'd get used to it, but I just can't stand the smell and so I threw the bar out. Please, please bring back the old formulation if you want me back as a customer! Thanks for reading.
Why? You changed a product that was loved and had a very loyal following of users to something that (judging by the reviews) is almost universally hated by that formerly loyal user group. On top of that you completely misrepresent the product by calling it "Original." That should earn you a lawsuit for false advertising, but maybe it should earn somebody a lot of praise if they just change it back. Keep the new "original" but call it something else. When no one buys that one you can just drop it and keep the old formula without the stupid "classic" attached. Someone in this company really wanted to try and pull one over on the original users, maybe they should find a job at Coca Cola (I seem to remember that at least they were honest about changing the formula).
The New Irish Spring soap is terrible. The fragrance can't match the original and is almost non existent. The soap itself is slimey on your body and due to the slime seems to crack and disintegrate while in the soap dish waiting to be used. PLEASE GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL! If not, then I will be changing soaps event though we have faithfully used the original Irish Spring soap for years.
