With two pets and two humans packed into a tiny bungalow, my house has a miraculous way of filling up with grime. Unfortunately, the robot vacuums of yore, with a voracious appetite for cords, pet toys, and cat vomit, left plenty to be desired. Enter the j5+ combo robot vacuum (which, full disclosure, I received gratis in exchange for an honest review). This, my friends, is the robot vacuum of the future. It creates a map of your house so you can tell it where to go (e.g., the kitchen) and where not to go (pet toy box, please!). It can somehow identify obstacles with its robo-eyes and decide what and what not to suck. Is it magic? I don't know, but it sure makes my life a heck of a lot easier. My partner decided a day after we received this that his mother was getting one of these for Christmas - and this is the first time in his life he has ever given her a Christmas present! I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was soooo excited to try out this J5 Robot Roomba vac and mop. We have dogs and cats plus outdoor chickens so our house is always a mess. We set the app up very easily on our phones and after the initial test run it was good to go! Even our pets aren't afraid of it because it's so quiet. It works very well in rugs, tile and hardwood floors. We love that it has a sensor to not run over poo poo. That's huge! So far we absolutely love this machine. We're very grateful and will continue to constantly use as we have it on a programed schedule. It does it all! 10 out of 10!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unboxing: This thing was was packed well, apart from it being triple boxed (thank you), each box was labeled and included instructions on what to remove first so the robot wasn't damaged. First impression: Wow, this thing is beautiful; very sleek, stylish and modern. Setup: Setup was very easy, pretty much just plug and play. The instructions are printed on high quality materials so you can easily store them away for later. They give you a QR code to scan, this is my second Roomba so I already had the app downloaded. Operation: it is quieter than my first Roomba and my Shark, except for the empty bin option, very noisy but what can you expect, you need it to have powerful suction in order to clean it out. Pros: - Visually appealing and modern. - It is able to detect cords and other obstacles in its path with the front facing camera. That means if you have animals and they have accidents, there will be no more spreading poo all over the house (luckily my dog hasn't done that). - Cleans in rows instead random so it is quicker and more efficient. - Dog resistant, if you dog attacks it and turn it off Al the time, you are in luck. This one is not as easy to stop as previous versions. (See mapping video). - Debree bags, the dirt goes into the debree bags instead of making the entire chamber filthy. Cons: - The empty bin function is VERY loud. My dog did not like it at all, neither did my husband. - You have to swap out the attachment for mopping. - You will have to buy additional debree bags Overall Review: I am pleased with the robot, although I wish I it could vacuum and mop without changing the the attachment. The empty bin functionality is loud and will take some getting used to so I suggest putting the home unit somewhere where the noise won't bother you. I work from home so I put it far away from my office. Monitor your animals for the first few times you operate it so they aren't afraid and reward them for leaving it alone. Overall B+

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great vacuum! At first I thought it was too high-tech for me, but once I started using it, it's actually pretty easy, and convenient. The battery life lasts and it cleaned my pet's fur just as good as my other vacuum. I'm keeping both because each have an excellent performance. The noise while operating it's reasonable, not completely quiet nor noisy. I recommend this to everyone to give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Unless you place this one directly onto a hard surface, and that is all you are cleaning, it will do well. I have had to manually dump the dust cup because the sensors kept reading the wrong attachment. It wanted to switch to the mop attachment via the sensors, so I had to reset it manually by emptying the dust cup. I have spent more time keeping an eye on it than it has done its job. Frustrating.

Small important details about the robot are missing from product description. A very important one that I wish I would have known before purchase was that the liquid keeps coming out even after mopping is complete. I tend to start mopping and leave robot to do its work and then not worry about it till later in the day. With this robot, the liquid keeps on coming out. So you end up with a puddle of water around the machine when you come back. I wasn't aware about this till I received a notification saying to take away bin to avoid water mess.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the combo J5 with the emptying vacuum and mop combo. I was so excited as I've always wanted one. It's very confusing as you set up. The good thing is the instructions are decent enough to figure out. The bad it is still not enough to figure it out. You will have to figure how to get it to start. It took me some time then when it did it randomly talks which freaked me out. Loved the idea. Not as i expected.

Had to return the J5 as it was missing a necessary piece. The box appeared to have been previously opened. Unfortunately, it was sold as new.
