Ironton 5in. Air Angle Grinder, 11,000 RPM

Excellent angle grinder for home or professional use. This is my second Ironton pneumatic 5"grinder, having had one for around a year of use ,its reliability and ease of use prompted me to purchase another. Without any accessories the tool weighs nearly 4 pounds, it has some heft to it for a small air tool which is good. It feels solid in the hands. I always wear protective leather gloves when using any power tools ,with the tools diameter and weight it feels just right. It comes with a 4 inch long heavy plastic handle that mounts to the left side of the tool only. It vents out the front which help clear away any grinding dust. The small safety switch on the air activation lever is easy to operate and is non intrusive to use. The tool has a 5/8-11 spindle,it comes equipped with wrench's but no spindle lock button ,both wrench's are required to install any cutting or grinding discs. A spindle lock would be nice but I dont find it a requirement as all but 1 of my many pnuematic grinders is thus equipped. The grinder requires 90 psi of clean steady air, I recommend no less than a 60 gallon compressor to operate this tool . With 3/8" or 1/2" diameter lines providing plenty of volume. Always use a high quality air tool oil, 3 to 5 drops into a high volume air fitting before each use. This Ironton pneumatic grinder is plenty powerful for constant use,it runs and remains cool to the hand withs its composite over aluminum guard. Keep it greased and oiled and it should last many years. My 1st Ironton grinder has been run hard and used extensively and keeps asking for more.

Powerful 5 inch pnuematic grinder,ive only used it a few times. if you have the proper sized compressor pnuematic grinders are the way to go for extended cutting and grinding time. Happy with my Ironton 5" grinder so far.

I bought this grinder to replace a central pneumatic 4" grinder. It's a good grinder but really needs improvement. For example cut off wheels spin loose on the shaft. I have to put a cut off wheel, then a thick rubbers washer , and lastly the nut. Also the supplied spindle wrenches bent after 2nd use. The actual grinder great though.
