Great Product! Wish I Had Purchased Long Ago

Woodcutter60 October 20, 2017

I don't know why there are so many negative reviews. These are great clamps. I bought 2 6" and 2 12" when I was putting my deck on. Marvelous thing these are. These are my first bar clamps and I don't know how I got along without them. I use them ALL the time. I just bought the deck board accessory and I'm sure it will be just what I need to pull boards into position. The most useful feature for deck building was using the clamps to hold a post mount jig in place until the through bolts were attached. This is a homemade thing that slides over the post. Two sides are longer and will hold the jig to the post. The jig rest on the rim joist

Tried and True

Jake August 21, 2015

We have been fans of these clamps for decades. Our family uses them day, after day, after day, and none of us have ever had one fail. Ever. These clamps and the Speedbor bits are what initially turned me on to Irwin. It's refreshing to still be able to find a tool that you can buy once, maintain, and have last indefinitely. Some of my Irwin clamps are older than all five of my children, combined.

I have used many different bands of quick clamps an 'F' clamps. The products you supply are by far the best on the market. Not once has a quick clamp lost it's force or let me down. I look forward to replacing all my other clamps with irwin.

I use these all the time!

RebeccaS May 7, 2021

I don't know how we ever did DIY projects home before I bought these. These clamps have been indispensable. We bought them in 2015 and they still perform exactly like the day we bought them.

Good clamp

Alhambro June 11, 2025

Clamping is not as strong as I would like

very poor

Huro August 26, 2015

bought about a year ago. they are 48 inch clamps. The older ones are great. The new SL300 (improved) is NOT. It quickly died. We buy clamps in pairs. The other one is barely hanging on. All our older ones are still working well.

After less than 3 months of little to no usage the clamp broke.

disappointing

sophocles May 7, 2017

I think this product is underdesigned for its purpose. i have written customer service, and will update this comment as appropriate. the quick change button jammed the first day (second usage), and i was unable to remove the end jaw to reverse it, and cannot use it as a spreader. the bar is too weak and bends readily, which makes it possible for the tool to snap out of the work, which is quite hazardous. It's possible that the 600 pound version is designed better... don't know. but the 300 pound version is really a weak tool.
