We use many pairs of these in our manufacturing process. I am always looking to buy. Zoro not only had the right price, but the quantity I needed, in stock, and shipped them in a very short time. I always start my shopping trips with Zoro because they usually have what I need, at a great price and their website is very easy to use. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
early one Spring when I was 10 years old I found a pair of "weird pliers" rusting in the grass at my Nana's house. Took them home and cleaned out the mud, buffed off all of the winter's worth of rust, got them working and painted them Kelly Green. The next week I told my cousin. He promptly informed me that they were called Vice Grips, they were his and asked that I bring them back the next time I visit. A few visits later I finally returned the beautifully restored Vice Grips to their rightful owner, my cousin. I bought a set for myself at age 18. The tradition, heritage and history bounds forward today. Nothing like the sight of that Vice Grip logo, as you know the task at hand will be completed. They have been part of America since we were on horseback. Read the history - buy the tool!
Great value - one of many shapes needed in or der to be able to grip ANYTHING. Any kind pf fab work - these are go to pliers.
They do exactly what I needed
Good tool at a great price [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I HAVE SEVERAL DIFFERANT PAIR'S OF DEWITT NEB VISE GRIPS AND HAVE USED THEM ALL AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER I HAVE USED MY 5 WR TO MY 10 R AND 10 CR AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER. I HAVE USED MY 5 WR TO WORK ON MOWER'S AND EVEN USED THEM TO MOUNT A VISE TO A HOME MADE STAND TO MAKE IT PORTABLE. I TOOK A 13" STEEL RIM OFF A HONDA CIVIC AND TOOK A PIECE OF PIPE WELDED TO RIM THEN A FLAT PIECE OF STEEL ON TOP. TO MOUNT VISE I DRILLED MY HOLES USING A AIR DRILL THEN PUT BOLTS ON THEN SCREWED THE NUT AND WASHER ON BOTTOM . I HAD TO USE MY 5 WR TO HOLD THE NUT SO I COULD TAKE A RATCHET AND TIGHTEN THE BOLTS. I HAD TO USE MY 10 CR THE OTHER NIGHT WHILE PUTTING MY NEIGHBORS GATE BACK UP ON HIS CHAIN LINK FENCE THEY WORKED OUT RATHER NICLEY . CANT WAIT TO KEEP USING THEM FOR A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING EVEN USED THEM AS A ADJUSTABLE WRENCH BEING I DID NOT HAVE MY 10" AND 12" CRESCENT WRENCH WITH ME.
This is a great tool and well as a good logical addition to the other smaller Irwin Vice Grip tools in my tool chest. We are starting a new work area in the garage as the barn is fully stocked with similar tools. This is a good tool at a geat price and I am very happy with the value received.
I've been using Vice-Grip tools for years and in uncountable ways. I'm always finding new uses. The latest: cracking stubborn pistachio nuts without pinching my fingers. Vice-Grips should never be substituted for the right wrench, but when the wrench no longer works, this tool can be a life-saver. And temper-saver.
Whatever these are made of (apparently Cr-Ni steel 3) this material is way too soft. I managed to strip teeth on mine in a few minutes trying to get a stuck drill bit out. Those teeth offered no resistance. Jaws or its teeth must be made of cast iron to have any chance to last against anything harder than tin.
This is a go-to tool for me...I could not live without it. Especially when working with rusting bolts or hard to reach fasteners. Especially stripped ones. And it's built like tools should be built. Indestructible.
