out standing mproduct -how ever the long nose orig, vice grip with the bent nose iis not available-i have one in the small and large versiionand they are in valuable for so many jobs--please bring these back --a big fan of vice grip products
Product is exactly I need to remove inaccessible part.
I purchased mine when I needed to remove a hard-to-reach 1.5-inch nut from a single-hole kitchen faucet. The basin wrench I had was too small to grip the 1.5-inch nut. The long-nosed locking pliers gave me enough reach and grip to loosen the offending nut. I can envision lots of other uses for this well-made and versatile tool. Thank you, IRWIN Tools!
I actually bought the vise grip 9LN the original locking plier with the trigger in 2006-2007 they are stamped 9LN Irwin vise grip made in USA and vise grip the original on them. I have used them to clamp down mower blades to a picnic table so I could sharpen them using a file while camping and they worked great for that. I have also used them to pull a hitch pin out of a trailer these 9LN are the older vintage USA production models and are holding up great for being 15 years old now I keep them in a tool bag with other tools that way I can have them with me when I have to take a socket set somewhere with me. They've came in very handy and I will definitely continue to use them. I actually have other vintage vise grips pliers as well that are really old and are stamped Petersen MFR company Dewitt Nebraska USA some have April 1942 on them and others have the patent numbers on them I actually have newer models as well as a full set of the fast release models as well
ideal for sailors, you can undo tight knots, rings on shackles , etc, i use one for 42 years !!! Always have it when doing regatas.
The 6BN is the most used tool in my box. I'm constantly tracking down whoever borrowed it last. Please consider re-issuing.
I only use Irwin's products because when they stay locked unlike most/all other brands which need a backup clamp because they may spring off when they get old. However, these grips require two hands. You have to grab the other side and carefully manipulate them past the fully-open position to a semi-opened position before they'll work with just one hand. It's as if they were not quite manufactured properly allowing them to open past where they are meant to operate.
