it's a very faint purple. not bad. just very light. the frame itself though is very heavy and pretty. the back is a little weird in that it doesn't come all the way off. but i haven't bought a frame in a long time, so maybe that is how they come now. it's nice that you can use it vertical or horizontal.
Bought as gift for a friend who loves the color lavender and butterflies. It was so beautiful to put a picture of her grandchildren for her lavender bedroom. She was ecstatic! The picture in the add didnt do it justice. Very satisfied!

Description states may be used horizontal or vertical and was not able to use for a horizontal picture that I was going to use it for. A real disappointment, although the butterflies are real original.
It is an inexpensive frame. Butterflies are special to us which is why I purchased it. I don't know that I'd recommend it.
