This review applies to the female slide
Somehow the critical review I just posted for the female slide should have applied to the male tick slide instead. The female slide was well mounted, the male slide was not and should have been discarded. One other issue, though, is your labeling on both slides. You identify the species as Ixodes dammini, when the scientific literature uses the more common Ixodes scapularis. I've had a previous problem with your identification, which was flat-out wrong in this instance, your slide of cyanobacteria. It is identified as "blue-green algae," a common term but incorrect for educational purposes. As basic knowledge, students should learn that bacteria are not algae. I rated the female tick average, because educators should expect at $15 each a tick should not be squashed in the mounting process.
