I ordered as a wedding present. Originally I ordered from Amazon. The packaging was trashed and it looked like it was sent to somebody else first, and returned, Then that same package e was sent out to me. Not exactly a very flattering package to give us a gift to someone, but the package I received from Walmart came in perfect shape. It arrived on time within two days. It saved me. Thank you.
The whole set allows you to work with most foods. ( no cleaver for hacking bones** ) You will find the self sharpening base a very cool idea to keep your knifes ready at all times. ** You dont need a cleaver when your dealing with normal meat.
This is my first real knife purchase and I am so so incredibly pleased! The quality is amazing and I am kicking myself for waiting so long to order quality knives! The block looks so nice and I love that my knives will always be sharp.
Highly pleased with this knife set. They come extremely sharp. Great balance and comfortable in the hand. You do need to hand wash them, but that's a small thing when they are such a good kitchen tool. Be careful though, they are quite slick when being washed and they will slice you in a split second.
This is a beautiful elegant set. The handles are thick, sturdy and contoured to fit perfectly in your hand. The blades are thick high quality material. I would also like to mention the block is an attractive wood grain that fits our kitchen decor perfectly. So not only is this set a high quality functional set it also looks beautiful on your countertop.
Since we've been married we've always bought 'cheap' knife sets. This year we decided to spend money on a really good set and it was well worth the money. The knives are always sharp, and I was surprised myself by how, even I can thinly slice a tomato.
These are good knives! The only drawback I have is that they easily get rust spots. It comes off with a little scrubbing, but it’s a bit annoying. Otherwise they’re the best knives I’ve ever had. Better than my Cutco ones. I still recommend them. I’d buy them again.
I bought this set of knives as a Christmas gift for my wife this past December. Not even a year later and just about every knife has rust spots and the coat on the handles are peeling off yet in the description it claims to be dishwasher safe. Don't waste your money on these knives. I wish I could get a refund for these but it's too late for that. I'll be contacting the company directly about this.
Sadly, this item arrived damaged. Got a replacement order, and arrived with the same damage. After returning, ordered from another store entirely and it also arrived with the same damage. Really wanted to love this set, but apparently the storage of these items is degrading the product and I can't see paying good money for a product when it arrived damaged. Called the manufacturer, and they advised I needed to return the item, wouldn't do anything to help me with a good replacement.
I purchased these knives on sale during Black Friday and after ONE use, there was rust. I read the description and it was clearly stated “dishwasher safe”. So, I began handwashing, with all natural soap. More rust. I reached out to the manufacturer and I was told to use baking soda, vinegar and lemon to remove rust. As a customer I should not have to use baking soda, vinegar and lemon to clean rust off of a product that sits at $500 after ONE use. The manufacturer markets these knives as stainless steele. “Stainless” being in the title. What they fail to mention is that these particular knives are made out of a lower quality stainless, such as 304L when they should use a higher quality alloy such as 316L - at least. For the price, I would never recommend these knives to anyone. Sure, the self sharpening block is nice, but it's made out of a cheap wood, so any knife block would suffice. I would be embarrassed to charge someone $500 and stand behind this product.
