No matter what type of leave-in conditioner you have in your hair, THIS gel never beads up. I love it! The online price is absolutely too much though. Purchase in person at loads of different stores. I have thick, not to coarse hair, and I am Black. I cannot speak for any other hair type but my own. This is not an edge control and will not work as such no matter how much you use. No stiffness, no flakes, no beads. Love, love, love.
