My music stand experience begin in High School Band 4 yrs, playing Sousaphone, and playing Guitar with local groups for 30 years. I have seen and used about every type of music stand made. This stand is best. the music holder and base legs is made of heavy gauge sheet metal, the 3 tube sections are solid metal, not rolled sheet, will not damage if accidentally knocked over All adj fittings are metal, easy and fast to set up The holder adjusts from 24" to 45", you can use it sitting on floor or at good eye level when standing. I tried it with a heavy music Fake Book and auto repair manual, no danger of tipping

wow. this music stand is really awesome. it was so quick and easy to get put together and it extends really tall! my son plays violin and he practices standing up. at 10, he is already 5 feet tall and, with this stand he can have his music at chest level. it is very sturdy and has extra clip pieces (you can't really notice from the pictures) that hold the pages of the music down if you're using a book, or from flying away if using sheet music. this is a wonderful deal and shipping was cheap enough (combined with another item no less) to have it sent to my home and not the store.

I was very impressed with this product and its sturdiness and adjustability. It folds down so it is easy to transport. It is lightweight so my 11 yr old grandson can manage it easily. The price made it possible for me to actually purchase it, and he is thrilled with it! I'm very pleased.

I bought this music stand for my 10 year old daughter who is starting band. I saw other stands and they looked cheap and cost a lot more. This one is very sturdy and easy to assemble! Excellent quality for such a low price! Beautiful condition and absolutely no dents,dings or finish damage! Was shipped very securely. All parts needed were included! Looks awesome!! I highly recommend this stand for parents of beginning band students and for seasoned music professionals!

For the low price of this music stand, It is an excellent buy, very sturdy , but light weight , and can go to a tall size even though its called compact. If you are looking for a really nice music stand for not alot of money, this one is a great choice.

Even without instructions included, this stand is a snap to unfold and use since it comes together in one piece. Although inexpensive, it is sturdy enough for daily use. The rubber tipped feet protect bare floors and it is steady on carpeted surfaces. The page holders (difficult to see in the picture) do their job and can be folded out of the way if desired. The shelf is over three-quarters of an inch deep and holds any papers of books with ease. The adjustable height means even someone on the tall side (I’m six foot one inch) can use it comfortably. This is an excellent piece of hardware for the price. I highly recommend it.

I am tall, i can make this stand as tall as much for me. Really steady, good look, and nice to use.

This music stand is awesome! It is very sturdy and of good quality for the price.

If you need something light weight and easily movable, this is OK. I wish I had spent a little more than I did and by something heavier and of substantial build. However, if you are careful user and take care of it, this should work fine.

In general, it seems like a good design, but the quality of mine had issues. Some of the joints seemed solid and correctly tight. However, the top swivel joint holding the music holder was sloppy, so although the base was solid, the top part of the music stand felt flimsy on this joint. On the other end, the bottom slide up legs joint was nice and tight, but probably just a hair too tight, as each time I tried to open it, it took significant force (I'm a strong guy), and I always had to be careful I didn't overforce it and pinch my fingers. It was a great price, but for saving 10 or 20 dollars, who wants that hastle ever time they pull out the stand...so I returned it. Maybe other units have these joints in better tolerance, so they might be fine. Mine just wasn't....
