JBL Charge 5 Wi-Fi Portable Wireless Speaker

I’ve owned 5 different portable speakers by five different manufacturers at different price points. This is by far the best speaker I’ve ever owned. The sound is clear, crisp and loud. I can run the speaker all day for 2 full days on a single charge.

Let me tell you, first of all, it does the job it plays music as it should and all that good stuff but the really impressive thing about it is that it truely is waterproof and 10/10 resistant!!!😳🤯 like no way it made it through a fire, perhaps it didn’t catch on fire itself but it was in a room that did and it made it out just fine!! It rained all night so it got soaking wet due to the building no longer having a roof 👀 and once we got it out it dried real quick, charged it a little and there you go working like nothing had happened 😳🫣 I had to come here and leave a review without anyone asking because man this is one less thing we have to worry about buying after that incident and music is life can’t go without it at work 👷🏻‍♀️ definitely recommending it to family and friends or gifting from now on 😍🎁 1000/10 👌🏼

My son bought one of these after doing a lot of research. I was quite envious so eventually, once the prices had reduced I have now bought one. For me it's a game changer.

I've taken this everywhere since I bought it a few weeks ago , the sound quality is second to non as you would expect from such a well respected brand as JBL !! VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER !

This is the second JBL product I've owned. The first was a set of passive radiators that I installed into enclosures that I built myself. I was drawn to the JBL Charge 5 Wi-Fi because it can stream over Wi-Fi rather than being tethered to what is playing on my phone. It does not have a microphone, so there is no way to talk to it and make it into a smart speaker. Rather I installed the JBL One app on my phone. I use the on/off button on the speaker and open the app on my phone to actually start the radio station playing. I had difficulty getting the JBL One app set up initially. After contacting the JBL/Harmon support team and borrowing an Apple phone I was able to get the speaker connected to my Wi-Fi. Now I can move around the home and listen to my favorite radio station without being plugged in. When I travel, I am able to use my Android to connect to a different Wi-Fi network. For a glorified transistor radio, the sound is wonderful.

Bought this 1 month ago. Hold it's charge really well and sounds great but does connection dips intermittently which I've established is my phone searching for WiFi signal!! So don't panic is this happens as you can turn WiFi off on your phone although not ideal it's not a deal breaker!

Last speaker I bought (not JBL) was fine for a couple of years but then got very tacky and couldn’t hold a connection. I like things to last longer than that. JBL seems more robust and hopefully will.

Terribly unbalanced sound profile with EQ settings that can't target the peaks and troughs.
