Was awesome to use for karaoke when it automatically cuts the vocals out without needing to push a button. Lasts long enough to have a full night of karaoke or even to create a video or podcast. I got this since I love hosting events and singing with friends is always a vibe. The mic itself is very clear and easy to hear, although setting it up took some time to adjust the song volume and mic volume but we figured it out quickly. The mic itself has two options to be used (1) a handheld mic option which is my personal favorite and (2) a magnetic mic option so someone could just clip onto your shirt. The mic also comes with a connector port that can be plugged into a JBL speaker. If you follow the instructions to a tee, it's super easy to set up. My favorite part of the mic is how high tech it is. Using the JBL mic app, you're able to adjust your voice and make modifications including an AI option to turn any song into an Instrumental song - making it feel like actually karaoke. I would totally recommend this for a fun evening as an affordable add on to some JBL speakers.

Vocals come through surprisingly clear and the echo vocal effects make karaoke nights way more entertaining without feeling cheesy. It's definitely more of a casual fun set up than a professional vocal system, but for parties, family, gatherings, or just messing around with friends, it does the job really well. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a cool product. Functionally it works better than expected, but falls short of an easy on the go karaoke experience. It only works with a few specific speaker models which limits its “go anywhere” ability unless you also always want to bring your own speaker. My kids had a great time playing with it and singing along to Disney songs. You do realize quickly that most people need lyrics in front of them to actually sing karaoke so be prepared! The biggest drawback is that the AI mutes the full spectrum of the track when you turn the vocals all the way off. It takes the oomph out of the song a bit. The songs sound better if you don't crank the filter and leave some of the original vocals. All in all very fun and unique, but with some tradeoffs.

The setup instructions in the package were not that clear and could be improved. I had to search online to figure out the proper sequence to connect to the JBL Extreme 5, but once I got it, it worked seamlessly. Connectivity tip: While holding the play button, plug the dongle, there will be a connection sound, then turn on the microphone. The microphone was very sensitive and picked up a lot of sound, so you need the JBL One app to make adjustments. The magnetic clip is also a nice touch and held on really well on my clothing for hands-free use. On top of everything, a carry pouch is included to hold the accessories together with the case. This is a lot of microphone in a small package!
