JBL LIVE 400BT - Your Sound, Unplugged - Blue

It comes with Ambient Awareness on straight out of the box, which is a feature that allows you to listen to your music while still maintaining a hearing of your surroundings. This could be used when you're running in the city or on the subway so if there's a car coming or somebody is talking, you can easily hear them. However, when this is on, it lowers the sound and you cannot experience a full volume listening. So, make sure that it is turned off if you're seeking more volume out of your headphones. (It can easily be turned on and off with the click of a button on the right earmuff). The Google Assistant works very well and it is consistent. One tap on the left earmuff will tell you the new notifications and it can easily be activated by saying "Okay Google". This is unbelievably convenient when you don't want to take out your phone to access important information. The sound is amazing. It has the classic punchy JBL bass (great lows), especially when used with the JBL headphones application. The vocals and the overall mids are good as well. The app is very useful with the new update and it really allows you to get the best out of your headphones. So easy to customize and create numerous sound presets for different genres with the equalizer. You can easily hear the 808s in Hip-Hop tracks when the "bass" preset is selected in the app. The battery life isn't actually 24 hours, at least for me. I got around 20 to 22 hours, of course, we all use our headphones differently and you can easily achieve the 24-hour battery life with a different use. However, it definitely charges fast. The headband is comfortable with the mesh design and definitely appears cool. However, this mesh design might make it easier for the headband to get hooked to items in bookbags and mess the pattern (happened to my JBL Flip 4). I personally haven't experienced any problems, but writing about it just in case. The padding is decent. It is an on-ear design so it doesn't cover your entire ear and it isn't very soft, isn't that comfortable for long use (5+ hours). The headphones have a long range. I was able to place my phone on the side of the field and do soccer warm-ups. Then, placed my phone in the bedroom on the second floor and still had connection in the living room on the first floor. This is something you probably wouldn't do but you could if you wanted to. There's no information about the sweatproof or water resistance but I have no problems with it so far. To conclude, these sound amazing just like the rest of JBL & Harman products. You can, of course, use the headphones application to adjust the sounds to your taste. If you travel, forget to charge your devices and exercise a lot. Then, these might fit you well. The battery lasts long and it charges very quickly "extra 2 hours in 15 minutes". Voice assistant feature and tap to active are great if you're on the go or don't want to reach to your phone for a small action. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Sound is excellent, especially when using wired with a good EQ setting. Still impressed with how they sound wireless though. They look really stylish too, I bought them in red and they are very flashy! I'm a massive fan of JBL, I bought a Flip 3 a few years ago and was impressed with JBL's unique sound which influenced me to buy the 400bt. I was pondering whether to buy some headphones with ANC but opted for these instead and it has impressive passive noise isolation in my opinion so I am glad I didn't have to fork out more money for ANC. Having said that I would opt for ANC if looking for proper noise cancellation as there is still slight leakage. My only slight criticism is that they can be uncomfortable after long periods of listening but perhaps it's just a case of getting used to them. It doesn't bother me too much though. TL;DR: amazing value, fantastic unique sound and very stylish. Great battery life too!

I have struggled all my life with my hearing and wear hearing aids in both ears. This makes it impossible to use buds. Other wired headphones are ok but the sound is not very loud and the cable snaps so easy. So when I found these they are excellent. Connected to my Samsung Mobile A71 no problem. They sit on the ear which means the hearing aid does not feed back. Sound is so loud that I can use them without aids in at all. With aids in I have to actually turn them down. The box is good quality and the headset itself feel good quality. My only gripe is that they are a bit tight, would be nice to have some flexibility in how much they press on the ears. Well done JBL and with a 30 day no quibble return policy. What's not to like.

Personalized and order custom headphones for the Hubbs. He was not expecting these to be his own & by own, I mean personalized. He loves his new headphones & he's always been a big fan of Harman products. He can place them over his ears & you can't hear the outside noise until you taking them off from your ears. Also, vice versa, he can place it on the loudest level & I can't hear what he's listening to. So bravo on this design.

Anyone who has ever owned a piece of JBL electronics has come to know the brand is synonymous with quality and value. These headphones are no exception. I love these headphones, I use them every day at work for 10-12 hrs n only charge them once every maybe 3 to 4 days! they do hurt my ears after like 6 to 8 hrs but not a big deal the vooixe assistant is very handy n works well overall love these n am very happy with this purchase.

So first impressions , I was pretty pleased with how they felt in my hands and when I went to put them on I noticed they have them labeled left and right inside of the ear piece which was a nice touch . Sound quality was pretty impressive and I took a few phone calls as well and had zero issues with hearing the conversation and them hearing me speak. Over all rating I would give it a 5 star but put 4 stars because I do wish the sound volume would go up a little higher but they work great and sound amazing. So I've gotten the chance to play around with these a little. Turns out I've been missing these for a long time. Besides the tightness around my ears, they practically block out all sound outside of them. They're amazing color makes them noticeable while heading down the street. I wanted to test these JBL Live 400 headphones because I've been frustrated with all types of cheaper headphones. In-ear ones fallout all the time and on-ear tend to hurt after a while. I was expecting these JBL Live 400 headphones to be comfortable and with some useful features that are simple to use. I turned the headphones on with a flick of a sliding switch. The blue flashing flight indicating the headphones were in pairing mode was easy to spot and my mobile device vibrated and indicated that it was trying to connect. After another quick vibration I was prompted to download the My JBL Headphones app. The app was easy to use with intuitive prompts to set up Google assistant. My first try of Talk Thru and Ambient Aware was fantastic. I'm not quite sure about the Google Assistant, when I press the button on the headphones the Google assistant just tells me the time and that I have no notifications or that the Google assistant isn't connected. The Ambient Aware is really good for listening to something like football commentary whilst still be able to hear what going on around you, and when I get used to the location of the button on the headphones Talk Thru will be great feature to switch to quickly. There are a few drawbacks. Unfortunately the instructions are too small and labelled as a quick start guide, which they are not. When music is playing and I press the Talk Thru button on the app the music goes too quiet for my liking. When I double press the action button on the headphones to activate the feature to ask the Google assistant, an Oriental tongue speaks a long sentence which I am unable to decipher. However, sound is good. Listening to bad guy by Billie Eilish was brilliant. It would be better if the button to access Google assistant notifications was used to access the Talk Thru facility because it is an easier button to locate on the headphones. The instructions could be clearer indicating which ear is left and which is right. I'm still not 100% sure that the L and R on the headphones are perhaps an L and B from the JBL logo. It is not obvious how to skip tracks using the buttons on the headphones ... I don't think it is possible without using my mobile device and if it is, it's certainly not intuitive. And finally my ears hurt after wearing them for any length of time. I think I need to get over ear headphones.

I bought this model on May 2nd and received it on May 9th with the 2-day complimentary shipping. They were working great until less than a week later, the right headphone speaker sounded terrible, very staticky, and then eventually the right ear speaker stopped working. Luckily I am going through with a replacement order.
