All cat collars should be breakaway. Other cat collars I've tried have fasteners that are too tight to release if the cat gets hung up. The buckle on this one does release, at about 10 pounds (estimated) - perfect. Also very reflective. It's the best I've found so far, and very reasonably priced.
It fits well, is easy open and close, and I like the reflective safety strip. I wish the bell was a bit larger and louder because my cat has still managed to sneak up on baby rabbits.
It seemed like a good quality collar but for the price definitely not because within a week it came off my cat and is lost so it was a waste of money
