Had a similar style charger with the "smart controls" wouldn't let me control the charging functions. This is a perfect "old style" charger with manual controls that does exactly what I need at the race track. Good product well made for it's price range.
I found the box on my porch and it was damaged pretty bad on one end...sort of hated to open it, but I did. I was really surprised that there was NO damage to the charger. Packaged very well! I have not used it yet. I bought it because the one that I have is all digital and does not recognize a completely dead battery. This one has an old style analog meter for the amperage. I read the reviews of this one and several people said it would charge a dead battery. So now I am ready is the batteries of one of my vehicles goes completely dead.
Was looking for a battery charger to replace my old craftsman I had for 20 years. Found this one and it works great. Starts my backhoe, trucks and charges all my batteries. And it has dials I can read. Had 2 NAPA chargers ,they didn't last 2 months. I would highly recommend this charger, it works.
Finally , A Batt Charger that will charge a DEAD Battery. Smart chargers will automatically cut off if Batt is really dead or has a bad cell. This manual charger doesn't Care. >IT Charges<j
Had this charger for a month now and overall happy with it. The simple manual settings and timer are way better than the "automatic" chargers out there. Was able to jump start a dual battery diesel truck no problem
Since my first review was not posted.... here goes another try. I Originally purchased this unit a month ago. Charger came quickly and packaged fairly decent. Unfortunately upon testing, the timer and amp meter did not work, and it was only putting out 8 volts. I Contacted customer service and after an hour on the phone, I finally got them to agree to an exchange, and I was not going to pay for return shipping, because they sent me a defective charger. I promptly sent it back to them the following day. A week later, I had not heard anything about the replacement unit. I called them again, and the rep that I spoke to the 2nd time was very pleasant and informed me that he would escalate my exchange, beings it was received and was there almost a week already. He put the order in and it was received in 3 days. I'm very impressed. Excited to get my 2nd unit, I unpacked it and tested it immediately. Voltage output, check. 13+ volts. Timer functions, check. It actually ticked, and counted down. Amp meter.....ughhh. Not functioning properly. Needle barely moved. Checking with my Fluke, it was putting out slightly less amperage than the unit was claimed to produce. Not arguing, since 2 out of the 3 worked this time. It's not worth the hassle of sending it back a 2nd time. Next time, I will buy a name brand charger. Thanks jegs for instilling a crap load of confidence in your brand !!!!
experience will never order from you again machine was broke when I opening it then you charge 12.00 dollars to ship back
Ordered mine April 2021 already no good won't work it's now July 2021 less then three months only used it like three times
I have tried twice to start a car with this charger. Neither time was successful. The gauge never moved. Ended up starting the car with an old charger I had.
Purchased this charger for our shop to use from time to time to charge a battery. After about 10 uses it completely stopped working. Completely dead. We researched many ones before buying this and guess we made the wrong decision. We bought this one to replace the one we bought 20 years ago and still works. Just in bad shape.
