Pump is very quiet for a pump of this power. Got in my 63 big block dual quad Galaxie to cure some vapor lock type problems with todays "easy to boil" gas. It works and is quiet in early days testing.
Smooth sounding, so quiet if you are use to a loud pump you may not even notice this one on, pre-set with at 6.5 is a MAJOR plus. NO REGULATOR required.
The fuel pump I had was very loud. I saw a YouTube video for this pump and figured it was worth a try. It was a very quick installation, 30 minutes, and when I turned on the accessory mode I could barely hear it, once a cranked over the engine it was completely gone! All Muscle! Extremely satisfied customer. 57 Bel Air 2dr hrdtp, 386, Turbo 350, Weiand Super Charged
I replaced my Holley blue with this and there is a night and day difference. The Holley was so loud, and vibrates so much, my wife didn’t want to ride in the car with me. I can just barely hear this at idle sometimes but once you are driving you can’t hear a thing. One negative is that the box was missing the mount bolts.
Worked great and much quieter than the Holley that was previously installed, once the pressure comes up you can't hear it over the road and engine noise, I'd buy it again and recommend it.
Brought this a month ago and as advertised... it super quiet. Running this pump on my 67 Chevelle. Highly recommended.
Although this fuel pump was not as quiet as I would have hopped it is less than half as loud as what I was running. Am overall happy with this pump.
Installed this in place of a very noisy Holley blue pump. This pump has a much different sound, but nowhere near the description of "ultra-quiet". It works fine and the recommendation to wire it via a 30 amp relay is a good idea. Took awhile to get it to prime, but it has not failed to pressure up since. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it to a friend mainly due to the price versus average performance.
I purchased this in March of 2022 while my engine was being built. In service wasn't until late July of 2022. Recently, in mid-May of 2023 I noticed a stumble on heavy acceleration. A check of the Jegs Fuel Pressure gauge showed 4 PSI fuel pressure. I adjusted the regulator screw to no avail. Last night I called Jegs and told customer service of my problem. The customer service rep stood firm on the 1-year warranty and refused to offer any satisfaction. The car had less than 4,000 miles since it got back on the road and the in-service was way less than 1-year. Today, I verified voltage at the fuel pump and saw 14.3 volts on a calibrated Fluke meter so voltage is not the issue. Popped the hood and saw 6 PSI. Came home tonight and popped the hood and saw 3 PSI. The built in pressure regulator in this particular fuel pump is certainly faulty. There is zero chance I would purchase another of these fuel pumps and zero chance I would recommend it to a stranger le alone a friend or family member. For $250 I expect more than 4,000 miles of service from even an $11 electric fuel pump. I understand the customer service reps position but expect more for my money and frankly, a customer service rep that understands the customer's position. Jegs burned a bridge and they know I spent a boat load of money with them when building my engine. My Brawler race carburetor requires 6.5 PSI so I will be purchasing a new fuel pump but it will not be a Jegs product. Holley, here I come.
Bought one and installed it,all was well until I took the car out for a test drive ;when steppin on it in first gear and shifted to second the engine stopped. Waited for 10 second for the pump to fill up the empty fuel bowls so I could start the car up and get of the road. Back outside the shop I checked the fuel pressure and it was down to 2 psi, tried to raise it without result. Contacted customer service and got in contact with them the 3rd day I tried after waiting to be connected for 2.5 hours, the nice guy in the chat did after he understood that I was on the other side of the atlantic ocean sent me a new one without returning the faulty one, 3 weeks later the replacement pump arrived, and today I took the first testdrive, aaaaaand the result was exactly as the first one,the pressure sat at 7 psi with the engine off, started the car and drove out of the shop, let the engine reach operation temp. to adjust the carb, after 5 minutes I looked at the pressure gauge and the pressure had dropped to 4 psi and kept going down until it showed zero psi on the gauge.tried to adjust it without sucess,so time to drain the tank for the third time to put the old reliable "blue" back again,it's noisy as a rock crusher but atleast the car runs with it,so now I have 2 new paper weighgts in the shop, expensive paper weights since I paid shipping over seas and custom fee's & vat 2 times. Last time buying anything from Jegs
