Cook %26 serve harks back to the days when things actually made sense. The aroma of butterscotch, the taste and the texture (Yum!) defy description. If all you know is ‘instant' pudding, try a few boxes of cook %26 serve and learn what REAL pudding is all about!
This is my favorite pudding mix. I don't like the texture of instant puddings or the mouth feel of them, so I buy the kind you need to cook. I think butterscotch has been my favorite ever since I was a kid, and now I'm 81 and it's still my favorite. I love the creamy texture topped with a dollop of whipped topping.
I use this Cook and Serve pudding for a Butterscotch Cake recipe. It is a family and community favorite. The cake is moist, smells wonderful cooking. With the butterscotch bits and pecans, it is also a texture treat. I've tried using instant when Cook and Serve was not available. There is no magic there. It has to be Cook and Serve. :)
With the price of eggs I haven't been baking as much. Ice cream prices have increased. So as I shopped this week it occurred to me, what about pudding?!!! After making Jell-O cook and serve Butterscotch Pudding, I remembered how much I truly love it! Well pudding is now back in my regular dessert rotation! It's easy, quick to make and affordable! Delicious warm or cold. Butterscotch is such an enjoyable flavor and the creaminess is delectable! Highly recommend!
Tried a new cinnamon roll hack that called for 2 boxes of butterscotch cook and serve pudding. I would have never thought to add that. You cannot believe the intensity of flavor this added to the overall decadence of the cinnamon rolls. Move over Cinnabon; I'm keeping a few of my dollars at home with this hack! I bought some banana pudding cookies at an upscale shop and my sister figured out they had added banana pudding to make it so moist and flavorful. Guess what I am trying next?!
My mother hated instant and always used cook and serve pudding. I grew up. I tried instant. I hated instant. I've always loved cook and serve pudding flavor and texture served warm. I love all three of them. butterscotch vanilla chocolate. yum!
Easy to prepare in microwave on medium 8 minutes but stir every 2 minutes let it boil for a bit at the end. Much easier than doing it on stove top and comes out great.
Cook and serve is all I order, and I assumed that Walmart would get it correct so imagine my surprise when I finally discovered that the majority of what I purchased was instant. Ok. The packages look exactly alike except for the wording, "Cook and Serve" is written on the package. I didn't notice this at first and I destroyed several batches by cooking them. Just check your orders.
Didn't order this item either, but it was on my order and I paid for it. Not sure what's going on. This is never happened before but it kind of sucks when you get something you don't need when you pay for it wondering how it got there now the pudding I would definitely end up using but Capri Suns I would not that's something my grandkid up north drinks not me. SMH.
I've been eating this pudding my whole life. I recently noticed the taste had gotten worse and after checking ingredients I realized it has dyes, including Red 40 and I'll never buy it again! On a positive note, I started making homemade which is almost as easy, is healthier and tastes far superior.
