Before buying this item, I did try this. It was great. It's a little spicy, but not overwhelming....a little glass of water on the side just in case. It has a similar taste to regular sausage.
In the chilled aisle, wrapped in quiet confidence, rests a pound of promise—Jennie-O Fresh Lean Ground Turkey Sausage. Not engineered, not burdened with artifice, but all-natural and minimally processed, it stands as a tribute to simplicity done right. From skillet to grill, its transformation is alchemy—lean, juicy, and seasoned by nature's own clarity. In breakfast scrambles, it rises like dawn; in pasta sauces, it anchors with savory depth; in patties, it proves that health and indulgence can wear the same crown. No fillers, no pretenders—just turkey, honest and proud, shaped into the cornerstone of countless meals. This is not just sausage—it is a foundation of flavor, a lean champion of nourishment. 🔥 A pound of meat? No. A 1 lb torchbearer of wholesome taste, carrying every dish toward glory. 🔥
This is easy and quick to cook. I cut thick slices and put them in a skillet with a little water. As they cook, I cut the slices into the size I want with the spatula. I cut potatoes, mushrooms, etc into same- sized bites to make hash. The sausage tastes less salty than most and doesn't drip grease when you bite it.
I love this sausage. It's mild tasting (I do not care for very spicy sausage) with rich flavor, and it has only a few simple ingredients (minimal processing). I usually cook up 2 rolls and keep them in the freezer for quick use in breakfast dishes, pasta, etc. Also makes a great sausage sandwich.
We switched from pork sausage to turkey sausage. The taste is great , we tried all of the different turkey sausage products and Jennie-O has the best, the texture is better than the texture you get from pork sausage products. We used it for a breakfast casserole and everyone was commenting how great the flavor was.
This turkey sausage has great flavor and easily blends with ground beef and ground pork. I've used it in marinara sauce, in casseroles, and on its own for burgers. I've been buying this Jennie-O Turkey Sausage for years and its quality and taste has remained consistent — I highly recommend it.
This ground chicken sausage has great flavor! It was actually a little spicier than I expected. The big surprise was how much liquid çame out during frying. I had to sop up the grease/water with paper towels twice. The number of servings was less than I had hoped. Yet cooking mushy pinchfuls into the pan, with a can of diced potatoes (both well drained) makes a relatively healthy breakfast.
it's okay but I like the ground turkey meat out of the meat dept where they sale chicken meat the ground turkey meat in package is better to me but the only thing I don't like is the price i think the price is kinda high for this ground turkey meat and it's just a lb for $5.65
Jennie-O fresh lean ground turkey sausage provides a great alternative to higher fat breakfast meats. It has a mild breakfast sausage flavor with notes of black pepper and garlic. The texture is a little bit smoother/more finely ground than typical breakfast sausage. I have found I can use it in breakfast tacos/burritos, breakfast sandwiches, and sausage gravy with no problem, but it sometimes requires a bit more seasoning due to the sausage's milder flavor.
The frozen turkey was thawed when I picked it up. This is not good. You're not supposed to refreeze meat after it's been thawed out so now I have to use it before I planned to. I'm going to use it in the next couple of days, so I don't need to return it, but that's not good, meat that's expected to be frozen should not be thawed out
