I've loved this movie from the day it came out at the theater. I saw it multiple times the 1st day, I sat through it and watched every detail of the movie. I've watched it on TV almost every time I played. I finally had a chance to record it on my Dish DVR. Now by finding it on Wal Mart online and buying it, I can keep it to watch every time I'd like. you like westerns , this will get your attention to many of the old West things we all live. it's got lots of big named stars and a very good storyline. great views of the mountains and beautiful scenery. I recommend this to all who like the great outdoors and westerns alike. it's a great movie for adventurous people.

I live in Montana! This story is based on a story of a mountain man who lived in Montana and fought the Crow Indians. Very good story and good looking Robert Redford.

One of my ALL TIME favorite movies, esp in the winter with snow on the ground and a big pot of chili simmering on the stove! If you haven't seen this movie, you need to!!

For anyone even remotely interested in the history of our early pioneers, this one is classic in all respects. It has to rank at the top of all Robert Redford roles.

Disc menu confusing. I learned you need to sit through a rather lengthy intro/overture(they call it) it was loud, but when the movie started it needed to be turned up. I bought it for when the satellite was out due to storm. Much as I love this movie, it's too frustrating to choose over others.
