Customer Insights: Rated 4.1/5 from 240 reviews.
My children absolutely love these and only took 10 minutes to learn how they worked definitely recommend over a original Hoover board.
I bought them to resell because the price was unmatched. I got such a killer deal I bought two pairs. I couldn't really porch a product I never tried so I was just going to try one pair, one time. This was a sketchy decision. I ate crap on a hover board every time I tried. These ... Are so insanely fun. I get compliments and questions about them all the time... I absolutely adore them. You melt right into them it's like you become one with the skate I am so stinking happy that I picked up this toy. And that I have a spare pair just in case. 10/10 everyone should try them lol
Middle aged fat man here. This is an awesome toy, I'm a bit heavier than the 220lb rating but it still works great, I got the hang of it within a couple of hours, unfortunately I had to charge it after 2 hours. I have annoyed my wife since I got these, but it's completely worth it. Some reviewers rated these low because there is a learning curve, but if you watch the YouTube video about how to operate these, and keep trying, you'll get the hang of it really well. These are far superior to hoverboards because of the freedom of movement between the feet.

Fun, easy to set up
PROS Fun Tech I'm amazed that, for the most part, the technology that just 10 years ago required a large Segway platform or a larger hoverboard has been shrunk down to two little shoe-size platforms. It's a marvel of design and function that makes for super fun devices that really go! Very Fast They're surprisingly responsive and speedy. So much so that they're hard to control at first! I weigh 175 and was surprised at how quick and torquey they are. Plus a top speed of 7mph is more than enough. Breaking is good too: a hard lean backward can stop quickly. The wheels are grippy. My smaller kids fly on these things! Maneuverable Despite all the hardware, they're still lightweight and can handle tight turns at some speed. Despite a tendency to roll over on tight or fast turns (see Roll Off in CONS below), they're surprisingly nimble and fun. Portable They're fairly small and not super heavy. It would be easy to drive or bike to a location and then unload from a backpack to have some zippy fun with friends or the kids. They also have stretchy straps as handles to carry when needed. Hoverboard Trainer It comes with a bar that screws into the sides to turn the two platforms into a conventional hoverboard-like rig. This is for training and will likely break as soon as you hit something or go up a sidewalk transition. Jetson made the bar metal, but the two mounts are lightweight plastic. Mine broke more or less immediately. Tricksy-ish It's fun to get smooth and swervy. Gliding into smooth 180 spins, rolling backward, then twist around forward again is super fun. It's possible to keep spinning in place and more. A really advanced rider might pull off some jam skate moves, though probably limited. Lots of YouTube people are standing on them sideways like freeskates. I wonder what it'd be like to roll these in a skate park! Like hoverboards, they quickly become second nature and I don't want to take them off as I float effortlessly about—as long as the surface is very smooth and largely flat. Good Battery Life They seem to hold a decent charge and go an acceptable amount of time distance before recharging. CONS Toys Only If you want to commute, there's no real possibility here. These are meant for playing around on highly limited, very smooth, and fairly clean surfaces only. Commuting or long distance travel would be a headache. This leaves just playing in highly manicured parks with perfect sidewalks or basketball/tennis courts only. Similar to hoverboards, these are not capable on a variety of rough surfaces and transitions, probably these are worse because the heavier attached foothold of a hoverboard is inherently more stable than these loose and lighter platforms. Uneven sidewalks, curb ramps, and cracked roads are hard to handle. Maybe a very experienced rider could run lots of roads and streets on these, but seems to be a diminishing returns on fun vs annoyance at carefully dealing with every rough spot. Roller skates have similar surface issues but, since they're attached to the feet, it's easy to step over obstacles. Hover-shoes must roll over virtually everything. It's possible to carefully roll diagonally across lower sidewalk line breaks, but not tall or wide breaks. The wheels are much bigger than a skateboard but not big enough that even slight rises are hard to traverse. Common busted up tree roots sidewalks can be scary. I would never want to go into bike lane traffic to avoid difficult sidewalks on these squirrely things! They tend dart if you fall off. Lit'l Darters The biggest—and critical—design flaw I found on Motokicks is they can keep rolling (sometimes fast) if the rider falls off. There absolutely should be NO way these can drive themselves away fast under any circumstances! Here's another reason not to use them for commutes as they can zip away into people or traffic. Jetson designers should have incorporated weight sensors to make them stop once the rider is off or some other way to apply breaks. My feeling is Jetson tried but slowing is minimal when they're loose and can be fast if they're tipped heavily when falling off. Problem is immediate stopping would mean fewer tricks like one-foot hand-offs or other moves where the board has to roll on alone while the rider chases on one foot. They self balance and so they're meant to find an equilibrium and stay still but that doesn't stop them rolling away once they're tilted even slightly. You don't even need to fall off: Once turned on the slightest tilt of ground or nudge of one side or the other and they merrily roll away and won't stop until you grab them or they hitting something. Roll Off A minor issue is it's easy to roll sideways off the platform on a tight or fast turn. Then it ends up on its side or upside down. The wheel is wide but there's also a lot of top weight with rider and battery/electronics. There's only so much sideways leverage that little wheel can handle. The platform is wider than the wheel too so rider weight on an extreme edge is hard for the wheel to take. I notice it happens less with experience as I get more comfortable balancing and leaning harder into turns so probably not a big deal over time. Again though this is another example of how unstable these are for anything but playing on a very smooth and limited surfaces.
They don't work properly
I bought these for my son months ago. He is very tall and tried them out and said he felt like they were really for little kids. I had a lot happening in life and wouldn't you know i was 1 day too late to return them. so now I have been stuck with these brand new moto kicks that we can't do anything with and i have been trying to save to get him a scooter instead but unfortunately the life matters that made me hold off returning these are also effecting my savings for anything besides the essentials. uggghhhhh. what can you do
