The Seed Starting Greenhouse is just delightful! The whole system makes starting my seeds easy as pie! I used an 'assembly line' system on mine - Add the SUPERthrive to the water, gently pour it all over the peat pellets, wait (not very long) for the pellets to swell up, go through a row at a time, pulling the netting away from the top of each pellet, then loosening the peat a bit with a chop stick. From there you just add the seeds and cover them with the loose peat. Don't forget to label what's in each row. Great system!! Love it.
Jiffy Professional Seed Starting Greenhouse with 72 Peat Pellets and SUPERthrive Sample, 36mm Pellets proved true to the claims: nearly every seed sprouted, the pellets have held up well, hold moisture well, and the individual pellets have made transplanting simple, doing no harm to any of the seedlings. I'm sold.
This system is very easy and straight forward to use. I had seeds sprouting and growing right on the timeline outlined on the seed packets.
they were very productive until Hurricane Ian devastated my gardens, and my house. We were in the eyewall for 14 hours. Amazingly, there were still new shoots coming out of the tray( it was "safe" in my lanai)...Can't wait to restart my seeds and get my garden back!
Great for getting a head start 6-8 weeks before last frost. As time goes by and I see I put to many seeds in one pellet, I cut 4 cuts with scissors on the corn starch mesh to give the roots more room to grow. These expanded peat pellets are easily moved to a a 2" square peat, or 3" round peat pot if more room is needed. If winter won't let go I re-pot the 3" to 4" to gain more time. The thing I like the most is a seed doesn't grow, you've only wasted 6-8 weeks of watering a pellet that didn't grow and the pellet can be used later. Also, I have very few clear lids, so that is always a bonus to get the clear lid. The Kelp based starter is great and not to overpowering for germination. 5 Stars! Highly Recommend!
Great product. I buy every year. Had a little problem this year (2022); contacted company and it was recified immediately. I highly reccomend this company to my friends and family for their superior customer service!
It can't get any easier. I am 57 and this is the first time I opted to start flowers from seeds opposed to spending one arm and a leg on an established plant. Super easy to use, maintain and I slide it right into my greenhouse.
I received the 72 pellets, put the lid is broken and I did not receive the sample 36 pellets.
I had bought these before and they were fine, but this time there was something seriously wrong with the pellets. The seedlings emerged but were stunted. After a few weeks many were dying. I had them under grow lights side by side with other plants that had been grown with a different brand growing medium. Those thrived. I transplanted the ones in the Jiffy pods to potting soil and most recovered. Something is wrong with the pods! I am an experienced gardener with 3 decades of gardening.
Hate it! And I even bought the replacement box of pellets that I will never use. I planted everything very carefully and I have seeds that are actually popping up out of the the peat. I've placed them farther down, covered with more paint, and they've popped up again. I am going to replant everything larger peat pots and I wish I had never bought this seed starting kit from you.
