Even though I'm missing my Bob Evans, I'm making the best of it cheating with Jimmy Dean. Yes, he's my new man and my hidden secret in my meatballs, spaghetti, and lasagna. Even for those who claim not to eat pork, I always let them know not to eat any of my aforementioned dishes when I make them because I add this to my meats, and meatloaf too, they don’t mind, and if they don’t neither do I! Nice and mild, almost like me.
I've bought Jimmy Dean Mild Sausage for many years, actually grew-up on this band of sausage. You can make patties, mix it in with another meat, like hamburger. I make a cheese dip with sausage, %26 hamburger, %26 cheese dip. I've done this for years. One pound of Jimmy Dean sausage, one pound hamburger browned, %26 drained, one can of Rolel Chili %26 Tomatoes. Put in a crock pot on high till cheese melts, mix, then turn down on low for 30 mins. Eat with your choice of Torea corn chips. If you try this recipe give me a thumbs up Thanks
I selected this sausage to experiment with on my outdoor griddle. We decided to cook this like smash burgers. We made 3 oz balls and cooked them exactly like a smash burger making them as thin and lacy edged as we could. They cooked up well on a medium heat griddle. The edges were crispy and carmelized beautifully. The taste of the sausage is very good. We didn't add any seasoning because it wasn't needed. We fried up some eggs and toasted English muffins to make breakfast sandwiches. They were fantastic.
Jimmy Dean's original sausage is excellent. For cookouts, cooking, making casseroles, and with onions, jasmine rice and vegetables for a quick delicious stir fry meal. Sausage is not just for breakfast any more! We keep one roll in the fridge and one roll in the freezer to thaw out. Breakfast or a quick meal any time!
After extensive research involving a skillet, several eggs, and repeated taste testing, I can confidently conclude that this is indeed sausage. The product successfully met all sausage-related expectations. It was pork-flavored, breakfast-compatible, and demonstrated excellent cooperation with biscuits and gravy. Further testing will be required, but based on current evidence, I expect future purchases to be necessary. Science demands it.
I like Jimmy Dean I just wish they sold the Sage sausage Jimmy Dean's as well. I usually get the regular and add sage at home. I like this sausage because there is not much fat and more meat. Cheaper brands are mostly fat and it's the fat that spoils fast and ruins the whole roll.
Jimmy Dean's is my favorite brand. I don't skimp when it comes the recipe I bought that I need breakfast sausage for I won't buy any other brand. This is the only brand that I buy. I never had a complaint. It's so delicious and I can make it so many different ways.
My mom and husband are not fans of sausage, but they LOVE this! I either use it ground up in scrambled eggs or use it to make a wonderful egg casserole (6 eggs, red pepper, onion, 4 cups frozen shredded potatoes, sausage, cottage cheese, cheddar cheese %26 seasonings). The sausage is tasty, and doesn't have any gristle--win!
Prefer the taste and convenience of Jimmy Dean precooked sausage patties, but they are too expensive... more for just 4 patties than for this whole roll. If this roll gets more expensive, will just give up ssusage. Buy this and freeze slices in between wax paper slices for "as needed" use. Next will try the medium spice version.
pretty good sausage but it does seem like the quality changed a bit it's not like it used to be seems a little more lighter in color which I'm guessing is because there's a higher fat content now which makes it cheaper. it was much better than the store bought brand but I don't think I'll keep buying this one particularly it's good if you need it for a specific stuff
