I have been using these for a few weeks and have had no issues so far. Sound quality seems good. Set up was straightforward. The earbuds connect seamlessly and the volume controls work well. I had issues with the prior version (not the Elite) which ultimately stopped working altogether. So far, my experience with the Elite version has been better and hopefully this one will not stop working as I am enjoying using it.
I am absolutely LOVING the new earbuds and the updates they have from the previous version. I used the Epic Air buds for a year with listening time of over 400 hours before I upgraded to the Epic Air Elite, and I've definitely noticed an improvement of features, so here are my comments and comparisons: Pairing: Epic Air earbuds - initially pairing the headphones to each other and to your phone each use was a bit cumbersome. You had to turn on the correct earbud first (which is the one that is actually paired to the phone) and then make sure that connects before turning on the second earbud and waiting for that one to connect to the first. I had some issues with the sound cutting in and out if I had my phone on the wrong side of my body. If the battery was any less than 100% I also had issues with sound cutting in and out. Epic Air Elite - after initial setup and pairing, every time you pull the buds out of the charging case they automatically power on and pair with each other AND the phone all at once. Super awesome upgrade! The pairing connection is much more powerful and fast. I haven't had any issues with sound cutting in and out. Touch controls: Epic Air earbuds - while the controls were easy to understand (tap left earbud to go back, tap right earbud to go forward), I found that while lifting, sometimes I would accidentally tap the right earbud with my right shoulder and it would skip to the next song... Totally a buzz kill when you're jamming along to a song you love and all the sudden it skips to the next. I also had some instances when I got very sweaty and the right earbud would malfunction and keep turning the volume up to the max without me touching it....when this happened it would happen over and over again, and I usually had to stop using the earbuds for the rest of my workout (b/c too sweaty). Epic Air Elite - the touch controls are much improved, and more intuitive. One tap to either earbud no longer skips songs, but adjusts volume one notch. Therefore it is no longer an issue if I accidentally bump one earbud while lifting. I also love the "be aware" outside sound feature, very neat, and easy to turn on and off. Phone calls: Epic Air earbuds - I did NOT like the microphone on these earbuds and never took a call on them because I basically had to be shouting at the gym for the person on the other end to hear me. I refuse to be "that person" loud on their phone at the gym, so I never used this feature. Epic Air elite - I still have not tried to take calls with these, because of the issues with the last version, so I unfortunately have no comparison in this area, but hopefully it's improved Rubber tips: Epic Air elite - Jlab includes a new type of ear tip which is more like an ear plug, and is spongy. I really like these tips because I have a hard time getting most ear tips to stay in my ear, thanks to my tiny ear holes. One downside to the Epic Air headphones, is there's no ability to use just one earbud, you have to use both to get the pairing to work correctly. With the Epic Air originals, sometimes I would only power on the one earbud that pairs to the phone, and keep the other one off and in the case, that way I could have a conversation with a buddy at the gym while only the one earbud was in. If you're on the fence about upgrading, I say go for it! Awesome new features and the user experience is much improved.
I purchased these for my wife after trying many types of earbuds and she loves them. Easy for her to put on her ears and the auto on/off feature is a plus. She also loves the carrying case and it's ability to charge her earbuds if needed. Now to save up and get me a pair. :)
I have been using the Elite earbuds for about three weeks and have found them to be really high quality. Good battery life, excellent sound quality and pretty decent connectivity. And connectivity would be the only reason I didn’t give them a five star rating. When I wear my Apple Watch on my left wrist when I jog, it losses connection with each arm swing. I have fixed the problem by switching my watch to my right wrist when I run, but this is not my preference. Otherwise, I love ‘em.
I've been using these almost daily for almost a month now. Positives: They fit great, they REALLY stay in place, and I'm pleased with the audio quality and Bluetooth signal stability (yes, I've had another co's product that would drop out every now and then). Negatives: background noises seem to come through very loud to the person on the other side of a phone call call; and the "Be Aware" mode is rather noisy, as if it's picking up every little background noise.
I had a pair of Epic headphones stop taking a charge, so the company reacted quickly with a full refund of my purchase on their site. I decided to upgrade to this new series of headphones and I could not be happier. These things are light and great to use when I workout. These things are awesome and the charging case is brilliant. I charged the case once and have been using them two hours a day for the last 12 days without having to worry about a recharge. Also the range is incredible, as I can travel the whole gym while leaving my phone in one spot. My only criticism is that the sound is a little tinny even after playing with the various settings.
I have used the Epic 2 (wired?wireless) models for some time and they are fantastic. I just wanted rid of the connecting wire and gave these a try. They seem to be basically the same buds but with different ear hooks. The hooks are not pliable and do not fit my ears, otherwise they would be another 5-star product for me.
Overall these are great true wireless headphones. Connection is easy and the controls are not as sensitive as the first generation. The only issue for me is the volume. Wish the max volume was louder. The comfort is great compared to the Apple AirPods. These will not slip Out of our ear. Great fit.
BELIEVE THE HYPE!!!! Trust me when I say I've researched every wireless earbud known to man! I am a very active man whose activities include everything from running, workouts, biking, all the way to running and shooting transition drills on the range! If you are looking for true bluetooth wireless earbuds that will not fall off during the most strenuous activities, these are for you! Great sound, good touch controls, and best of all, perfect fit! Highly recommended!!!
I bought these earphones a few weeks ago. They were immediately cumbersome upon first use: ill-fitting in and around the ear regardless of bud size, this causes poor sound quality as the buds bounce. The touch commands are extremely difficult to use. Regardless of how you tap, Siri always comes on and volume does not change. Controls are too difficult and not worth the frustration. Definitely a let-down.
