Great series

All the players in the early life of our country were active in this film, if only in the background. The added historical notes feature is very informative. Laura Linney and Giamatti do a very good job of portraying their figures. All was not wine and roses in the early days of this country. Thank goodness we were Blessed with the fortitude of such people as John Adams. The movie gave me great respect for him as a person whom I had not really been introduced to in my educational process.

The series is one of the best time investments, that you can make. It transports you to this important time in history and you live history, in the making. The characters are spot on --- exactly like you'd picture them. Casting A + There's so many,many little things --going on unmentioned, also. Stay alert to things happening in the background or just things, in their every day life. Whatever the price is for this DVD.. You cant get this much American History for $24..in a school.

This movie is an award winning series on HBO TV. It is a wonderful true story about the Presidency of one of our great leaders. Great actors, great story, great DVD. It was also a wonderful shopping experience as i didn't have any trouble ordering on-line and it came in time for Xmas.

My order was received much quicker than expected and the product was exactly as I believed it would be. Usually when I find such a deal ($20 online instead of the $35+ in stores) the product is a cheaper case or quality or something but this is exactly the product you find in the store. Good job on Wal-Mart's part. As for the movie itself, the main menu of each disk is a bit confusing at first (unlike a simple "play" option on most DVDs, you are sent to a sub-play menu and then a brief summary of what the episode is about. At first I thought I had done something wrong by getting to a summary instead of the movie starting but then I simply hit play again and the movie started. The History of John Adams (and many others for that matter) moves along at a pretty good clip. You won't get a full history lesson on John Adams or his family or those around him, but you get a better sense of life in the early part of colonial America (i.e., beliefs, environments, situations, causes and effects, and relationships). I enjoyed feeling like I was walking through history and learning how our Founding Fathers came to believe in freedom and liberty and create a nation like non other. Also, I feel I could sit down and watch these movies again which adds great value for me if a movie has "replay potential".

John Adams Is A great DVD.

Kudos to HBO! This makes history come alive. I so enjoyed watching this and would again. I almost felt as if I were there. Beautiful imagery and interesting story, I hope HBO does more of the same.

This movie was excellant. I have told my friends about it. This settings looked authetic and realistic. They showed how things were as close to reality as possibke, I would recommend this movie to anyone
