Josh's Frogs ABG Vivarium Substrate Mix (4 Quart/1 Gallon)

As always with Josh's, box came on time and in good order. Been using this ABG mix from Josh's for years and and it doesn't disappoint. The mix in my RETF's terrarium was ~ 8-9 years old and to be honest it probably could have gone alot longer. No sour or musty odors, no sludgy spots and all my plants were growing amazingly (which was one of the issues, lol). The plants in it had just taken over it to the point that I decided to do a whole rebuild from the hydroton up. Mix some doodle bugs and springtails in with it and you cant go wrong. Very recommended.

This ABG mix is great for everything dealing with plants and vivs. Used ecoearth in one tank previously and you can really tell the difference and I will be using this from now on. Plants love it and the micro fauna love it throw down a little sphagnum moss and you're done. Keeps the humidity up while not turning into mud.

So when I bought this I wasn't sure I'd care much about it but I've really changed my mind. Not only is this a great mix it smells so darn good. As I was sitting there mixing it all up I had this calm come over me and I felt like I was just sitting in the middle of the woods as a kid playing in the dirt. It's really hard to explain what all this triggered in my mind as I was messing with it and planting. I've already found a reason to buy more

I originally bought one bag or 4 quarts of this product for a bioactive tank, and its amazing... So I bought 4 more bags of it! It looks amazing and I cant wait to buy more bags for future use for geckos! I would definitely recommend for others my plants new doing amazing!

This is absolutely a great mix, my plants and isopods love it so far! It allows for great drainage as well. I had previously bought a ABG mix from a different source and I wasn't all that please with it, then I found Josh's Frogs mixture and I'm now very happy! Josh's Frogs never lets me down. Would recommend!

I ordered this for my first bioactive tank which I am housing a crestie in. I ordered some plants and a cleanup crew from Josh's Frogs and found my plants are thriving. My entire tank Is popping and this is a great substrate to include. I recommend mixing in some of the tropical bio bedding substrate as well.

Great product that was perfect for the tank I had, so far my dart frogs ( from Josh) absolutely love as do all the plants l highly recommend this product

The bag comes with the ABG Mix in layers so you can see the even proportions you're getting. I've only had the substrate for a short time but I already notice a spike in plant growth.

I have previously made my own ABG, but when I broke down the cost of purchasing the bulk ingredients, the time, hassle, and mess- just was not worth it for my on my small scale. This is an excellent mix. My only complaint is that it is not mixed in the bag, so if you aren't using the whole bag, it is kind of a pain to dump it out, mix it, then either put it back in the bag or another container. That is the only reason I deducted a star.

It seems like a great substrate blend i wanted to give it a try as i usually make my own and it feels nice! Only problem is that they suggest 8 quarts for an 18x18x24 and after my drainage layer and putting the substrate in it is barely an inch deep i could have used double the amount recommended.
