Bought this cat for a dementia patient who had used it in rehab at a nursing home facility. Very realistic looking cat. Motions were excellent and the sound as well. Shipped quickly to my home and on date promised. Highly recommended product and company!
Bought this for my mother who suffers from Dementia. I thought it might be a little juvenile for her but I was so wrong ! She loves it ! It is such a comfort to her especially when it purrs. She says this would be such a wonderful gift for people in Senior Homes not realizing she is one of them. Thank you Hasbro for recognizing the needs of these seniors. Kudos
I bought the tabby cat specifically for a 92 year old woman with dementia. Although she clearly realizes the cat is a toy, it brings her so much joy. The cat is tenderly held, talked to, and taken to bed with my resident. She laughs as the cat purrs, meows, and responds to her touch. The cat replaces a real dog who was no longer able to live with us. My resident suffers from depression and the cat brings her much comfort. Kitty is very soft to pet and is tenderly wrapped in a blanket so it doesnt get 'cold'. It is an amazing, wonderful companion for this resident. Thank you so much!
We saw this in a newspaper just before Christmas My mother is 94 and loves animals but can't keep 1. The people at Hasbro were beyond super and sent it in time for Xmas. She loves it and sits, talks and pets it all the time. It is always there when she wants it. 1 draw back when it meows she doesn't know what it 'wants' so we keep it on mute when she is alone or she gets 'nervous' but it still purrs and moves. Not really for kids because it just stays in one place.
We bought this for my husband who has Parkinson's and is in Extendicare. He misses having a pet and so we thought it was worth a try. He loves it. We like the option to mute it and as the meow might become a nuisance to others. Still purrs and moves. It would be nice if there was a dog also.
We bought his for our grandmother and it has been great! It looks life-like and responds to petting and motion as a real cat would. Obviously, the fur is is not real but it is soft and feels good to pet. We really like the bathing motion and when it rolls over for a tummy pet! This is a great product for someone who cannot have a live pet for whatever reason. We have real cats yet I still enjoy going this one some love!
I purchased this product to send to my elderly mother who has been recently diagnosed with Dementia. This is such a wonderful "pet" for her and it is so lifelike. It is a great comfort to her. I couldn't have asked for a better gift for her. It interacts with her and she responds and has become attached already. You won't be disappointed with this product. The pet feels, sounds and reacts like a real cat. I have decided to buy more of these to donate to local dementia patients.
I bought the orange Joy for All Tabby cat for my Aunt who is in a nursing home and can't have her cat with her anymore. She calls it her Angel. It has really brighten up her life. Everyone at the facility just loves the cat. I'm so grateful for such a wonderful idea. The therapists have enjoyed showing it off to other residents while they are in therapy. It brightens their day and makes therapy more enjoyable.
I purchased this for my adult special needs sister. It responds by touch and light change by meowing, purring, blinking eyes and mimicking licking it's paw. She loves it and even talks to it as it reminds her of her childhood pet, Felix. It is lifelike, very soft to touch and no litter box! I purchased a second for her elderly mother. Very good therapy, worth the cost.
We bought this cat for my mother-in-law, whom has mild vascular dementia, so she was able to see that is a "toy", and although she wants to keep it, she very seldom pets it. The purring is relaxing, but the movements are very robotic, they are not smooth and make a sound. I think this is perfect for a person that will not know this is a toy.
