JT Eaton Steel Plunger Mechanical Mole Trap 490

I bought this trap to replace a different type of trap I had on hand. The earlier one was scary to use - I felt like it could easily chop off my fingers while setting it, if I didn't handle it just right. It was hard to set - and then it didn't work. After trying unsuccessfully for two weeks to catch a mole with the earlier trap, I gave up and ordered this one. It was much easier to set, and I never felt like my fingers or hands were at risk. Most important, I caught the mole inside the first 24 hours! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

We sat it multiple times, every time it was thrown but didn't catch the mole. Followed directions exactly, very disappointed in the trap. Really didn't even want to give it one star.

Set and reset it three times on an active trail and it never tripped. Even dug up the trail, refilled it, packed it, and set the trap...and the mole passed right trough it without tripping it

This trap is built great but its flat plate release lever requires a direct upward pressure from below so it didn't work for me.
