Juki MCS 1500 Cover Stitch and Chain Stitch Machine

This is my second cover stitch machine. My previous one was a brother. There is no comparison between the two. Juki is by far superior. It is smooth and runs faster than the brother but there were no jump stitches even going over 5-6 layers of Lycra on the hems of my outfits and is very easy to use. The threading is a little different to other machines. The lower looper thread goes along the inside of the left hand side of the machine around a tension wheel but the instructions on the machine are very easy to follow when threading. This is definitely going to be my new work horse. I use Lycra to make my outfits and this machine was already set up to do this I didnt have to alter the tension wheels at all. The stitching was perfect. I use the three needles setting and love the very neat stitch. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone. It is a solid machine that doesn't move on my sewing bench. The sewing bed is a little smaller than the brother but as I only use this for hemming I didn't find it a problem. It is plenty big enough for that. The brother does have the cool feature of being able to sew in the round just like on a sewing machine but I soon got used to using this machine without that feature. I sew about 3-4 days a week and I am an experienced seamstress.
