This a good educational game anyway my boy don't play a lot of like the others mario games when he play it he enjoy and likes, and he learn at the same time.
Wasn't sure what to expect from a learning game for the Wii and this turns out to be a fun game and keeps my children (6 and 8) both interested and engaged. From the moment they started playing they were engrossed with the custom character they could create and exploring around the world. The undersea area was particularly interesting to my 8 year old. There is plenty to do for both boy and girl. I would recommend this product to anyone with a 5 to 9 year old.
My kids enjoy the jumpstart.com online 3d world. This wii game is WONDERFUL! Very similar, and you don't have to be a "member" to play all the games (like you do with the online version.) Some aspects of the game are easier with the wii remote, and others are easier with a computer keyboard. EXCELLENT for summer fun!
My six year old is going into the first grade in the fall and we bought this as his 5K graduation gift. He loves it. It's fun but educational. It has kept him using the things he's learned and is even helping him to get a head start on what he'll be learning in the first grade.
My 5 year old son loves this game! Many of the games are too old for him now with its math and reading content, but half of the games are totally not. So he plays it constantly now and this will help him in the next few years as well. I am impressed too - only $20 Best thing I have found for my kid that is fun and educational (I am also a teacher). But he loves exploring and esp. under the ocean stuff. If your child isn't big into exploring an island and underwater adventure land, they won't like this. But if they like those things, this is great!
Both my 7 year old son and 9 year old daughter enjoy this game. It is not the big flashy type of "today" game but the graphics and games are much better than a computer game. They both enjoy the variety and I am happy knowing they have to THINK in addition to maneuver the controls ;)
I bought this game for my 6 and 7 year old. They love it. The mini games are very fun and simple to understand. You earn "Sand Dollars" and to purchase things. It is truly educational, counting, problem solving, and logical thinking are all easily used. If your goal is allow your children to play a game and learn, this is a great way to do it.
I purchased this game with my 4 yr old in mind. She did not know enough "academics" yet to feel confident enough to play the game. My six yr old is too busy playing action type games to be very interested in this game. If this was the only Wii game that we had, my six yr old would enjoy it...he just prefers more action. Basically, the game was too advanced for my 4 yr old....maybe she will like it next year. This game might be good for Kindergartners.
I found this game online and thought it would be great for my 5 1/2 year old daughter. She likes to play this game, but she can't really figure out some of the mini games. She usually has to ask her help. I think this game should've been made for ATLEAST Ages 6 & up, unless you have a child who plays videogames all the time, and understand how to play them. It wasn't worth $20.
graphics are nice enough but the skill games were a bit boring and not so many to choose from. the actual learning skills seemed a little too easy for my kids. the egg rolling fun game was hard and annoying with little educational value. the kids lost interest after 2 play sessions. I had hoped it would be more challenging for learning. one one game that was fun we clicked to play the harder level and it increased the physical difficulty of the game but the questions were not any harder than level 1. its trying to hit too wide of a target age area and they would have done much better if they had narrowed the target audience more and added more challenging skills. my boys are 6 and 8 but were easily bored with this game. you couldnt even go inside the cabin but only decorate the outside. seemed like they may have rushed it to market to make a buck but it was disapointing.
