Jurassic World Hammond Collection Ilsa Sorna Velociraptor Encounter Pack Action Figure Set (Dr Alan Grant & Raptor)

I am frequently seeing this referred to as the "Hammond Collection Jurassic Park III Velociraptor %26 Dr. Grant Pack" but whatever you want to call it I was pleasantly surprised by the Velociraptor's paint application—silver and purple accents across the face add a striking touch that helps it stand out on display. The sculpt feels well-proportioned, with a satisfyingly long tail that adds visual appeal. While this figure predates Mattel's more recent refinements, improvements in seam visibility and dental detailing have become noticeably better across their newer releases, but I still find this figure pretty good. Dr. Grant comes outfitted in his iconic JP3 gear, which fans of the film will instantly recognize and appreciate. One standout accessory is his functional shoulder bag—it opens up and can store the included Velociraptor eggs, a detail that's both fun and practical. The facial sculpt is just average in terms of actor likeness—not even close to perfect but not distracting either. Overall, this set is a solid early entry in the Hammond Collection line and should appeal to Jurassic Park III enthusiasts. That said, I wouldn't recommend paying over MSRP at this time, as it doesn't justify a premium price.

Very very verygood

Purchased for my 13-year-old daughter, an aspiring paleontologist, and lifelong Jurassic fan. Her room is filled with all things Jurassic and her only complaint is some of its scientific inaccuracies. Naturally, she is growing more interested in displaying collectibles than playing with the toys. If you're an older Jurassic fan too, especially if you love the Lost World, the Isla Sorna Velociraptor Encounter Pack would make an eggs-ellent addition to your collection. It's a highly detailed and articulated set that brings the movie to life on your shelf. Is it worth the price? If you value quality, detail, poseability, and a cool display piece, then yes!

The raptor is quite nice. It has a new head compared to previous raptor releases and the speckled white skin tone looks great. The Alan Grant figure, like most of the humans from Mattel's Jurassic lines, is pretty terrible. The face looks absolutely nothing like Sam Neil. I got the two pack for about the price of one figure so it works out, but definitely not worth it at full price with the awful human figure.
