It's study, hard shell as stated. The purple is really beautiful. Its dark color allows it to go with silver, black, white or light purple cosmetic and travel bags.

This is the best suitcase for traveling for weeks on the road. the 4 360 rotating wheels make it a breeze to push the suitcase quickly/easily to the bag drop. All my clothing and items stay secured in place with the strap and net on the opposite side. After several plane flights, the suitcase has held up 1000x better than any of the other suitcases I've had. The locking mechanism works fantastic, great suitcase, nice color, thank you!

We bought this as a second carry-on for a five week trip to Greece. It was worth every cent! Quality is superb! Finishing, material, weight, safety locks are all top! It’s lightweight and easy to maneuver, fits easily into overhead compartments in the airplane, and holds a lot!

My wife used this on our trip to Europe without any issues. Easy to maneuver and holds things in place with an internal net and some straps. Appears very durable. I would totally get another one.

My 18 year old needed her first piece of luggage for a trip and this turned out to be a really nice piece. It was white as the other colors were cold out so she decorated it with stickers she had collected from all over.
