Kahua Tenor Koa Ukulele, High Quality Synthetic Gut Strings, Eco-Friendly Wood

I wanted to try out an Asian Koa tenor ukulele to try to find a ukulele that has sound similar to my Eddy Finn which has a deeper, darker, bell-like sound. Asian Koa is beautiful wood. Deeper and darker in appearance than mahogany, they book matched it very well. The tuners are good for the price and function properly. This instrument comes with a Nubone saddle and nut. The a light brown fretboard is made of wood although we're not sure what kind. The neck appears to be mahogany. It's one of the smoothest and thinnest necks I've played. The action is good however the saddle is a little too high for my liking. It does come equipped with Aquila strings. I can't wait for my husband to do a setup on this ukulele. Out of the box it sounds and plays well. I am just picky and have a certain way I like to play. This ukulele is a hidden treasure in plain sight. I have not heard of the name, it's not expensive, and it doesn't look fancy. I have heard it though and played it for a few hours. Its sultry sound is worth far more than words can say. It is hauntingly beautiful and sounds unlike any of my other tenor ukuleles.

I probably would have given this instrument 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that the bridge is slightly out of alignment. it doesn't fact the plability or sound. Othwise, this is an amazingly good instrument for the price!

I have a lot of ukuleles and some of them were quite expensive.I bought this for a teen age friend. It exceeded my expectations. I can not believe they can sell this for this low price. Many features you would not expect in a ukulele in this price rang.
