It seems that the problems calcium supplements said to potentially cause like kidney stones and calcification of the arteries may be due to the type of calcium used in the supplement. Crushed rock forms of calcium cause are released quickly and can cause a big spike in serum calcium which has to be dumped somewhere fast, because serum calcium levels control muscle contractions including your heart. That is tightly regulated by the body. Food-sourced calcium has a different structure that is released more slowly and doesn't seem to cause those problems. Do your own research, but I can tell the difference because this does not cause heart rate issues for me, whereas standard rock-based calcium supplements like calcium citrate does case problems.

Whenever available, I try to choose liposomal formula supplements because I inherited a bit of a malabsorption problem. it's important for me to supplement calcium, as my D3 levels are very much affected by stress and I am concerned about a deficiency. Since per my doctor supplement absorption can interfere with one another I always take my magnesium at night, so I take my calcium during the day. I take generally one of these and then one of another type of calcium later on in the day to distribute it to my body throughout the day. Their ingredient formula and packaging is terrific (but it is plastic).
