It seems that the problems calcium supplements said to potentially cause like kidney stones and calcification of the arteries may be due to the type of calcium used in the supplement. Crushed rock forms of calcium cause are released quickly and can cause a big spike in serum calcium which has to be dumped somewhere fast, because serum calcium levels control muscle contractions including your heart. That is tightly regulated by the body. Food-sourced calcium has a different structure that is released more slowly and doesn't seem to cause those problems. Do your own research, but I can tell the difference because this does not cause heart rate issues for me, whereas standard rock-based calcium supplements like calcium citrate does case problems.
Whenever available, I try to choose liposomal formula supplements because I inherited a bit of a malabsorption problem. it's important for me to supplement calcium, as my D3 levels are very much affected by stress and I am concerned about a deficiency. I had become interested in ceremonial cacao but quickly discovered that much of the cacao contains dangerous levels of cadmium, and cadmium inserts itself into the bone mimicing calcium but it actually weakens the bones - something I'm quite concerned about as a woman in her 60s of age. So my plans to do a daily cup of ceremonial cacao were dashed. However, I take one of these and get it into my system at least an hour before, and then every once in awhile I will have a cup of cacao, but always making sure that I am supplementing with bioavailable calcium beforehand. (I am also learned that substituting a portion of cacao with that good old 70s hippie staple, carob powder, actually contains many similar polyphenols). Since per my doctor supplement absorption can interfere with one another I always take my magnesium at night, so I take my calcium during the day. I take generally one of these and then one of another type of calcium later on in the day to distribute it to my body throughout the day. Anyway, that's my calcium journey. take care of your bones, friends. Regarding the brand, KAL is a quality brand that I trust and seek out. Their ingredient formula and packaging is terrific (but it is plastic).
good product when i see a good product like this on sale i dont hesitate to buy it.
