This style is rare because it has a drip pan under the bottom basket to catch the broth. Most brands don't have this so the juices go into the water reservoir.
[Employee of walmartcanada] I bought the steamer 1 month ago and use it on average twice a week. I absolutely love it and easy to clean.
Cheap and good quality
Made shrimp, potatoes and corn on cob, wonderful flavors and so healthy
Very powerful 800 W electric steamer, It only takes 10 minutes to reheat leftovers. Steamed yams taste delicious. However, I haven't had a chance to use the top 2 tiers yet. Although it is not a big deal, it is tedious to decalcify the base unit after every 8th use.
I love this steamer. It takes up less counter space because it is a bit smaller than the last steamer I owned but it still holds all the veggies you could possibly want to cook. It works well, doesn't have those irritating loose bottom pieces and the baskets nest into each other for easy storage. I am completely satisfied with this product.
Best steamer to date that I've owned. Only 1 other good brand I haven't tried. If the timer will last, I expect some longevity with Kalorik. Great capacity and appears to have easy operation and maintenance. Has a steamer basket that claims to be able to do rice. Probably good for the occasional rice eater.
I haven't had it long, but so far I am really liking this steamer. I like the three tiers, and the oval shape. It fits better on my counter. It seems easy to clean, and comes with instructions for keeping the element free from buildup, which is something I didn't like about my old steamer.
This is a very easy to use and efficient steamer for vegetables and rice. We used it daily for more than 6 years. Unfortunately, during that time the numbers wore off the timer ring, so we had only our own marks to know the time we were setting. In the end, the timer knob shaft broke, making it jam in the casing and stop the timer shaft from moving. Cooking continued, but since the timer was stuck, it would not turn off automatically. Since all the components were showing considerable age, we decided to buy another, and it is working as well as the original.
It is really a great steamer. I like the manual timer as it is easy to set. No having to push several buttons to get it to the desired cooking time and no LCD screen to steam up so you can't read it. The only draw back is the trays. You can not use the large tray or the medium tray by themselves. You can only place the small tray on first followed by the medium tray, then the large tray. So if you want to steam larger items that will only fit in the large tray you have to use all of them.
