The KastKing Kestrel SFS is a beautiful, feather-light rod that excels exactly where it's supposed to: throwing ultra-light baits for finesse fishing. I mainly throw 1/64 oz Trout Magnets with it, and the rod casts them beautifully. The fast tip loads up surprisingly well even with practically zero weight on the line, making it incredibly accurate for picking apart lakes and rivers. The sensitivity is absolutely top-tier; you feel everything. ​The only thing to keep in mind is that this is a true finesse rod. It's built for light lines and open water or light cover. If you hook into something massive in heavy current and try to horse it in, you are going to push the rod past its intended limits. But if you use it for true SFS techniques and throwing micro-jigs like those Trout Magnets, it performs like a rod twice its price.

i paired it with the Kestrel SE reel and love the combo. i have 3 BFS setups and this will be great for 1/8 to 1/2 oz lures. I'm running 8 lbs braid with floro leader. It cast extremely far and accurate. The light weight combined with quality and strength I love it. I another ultralight Kestrel rod and 2 other KastKing rods. I many high dollar setups from Shimano, Diawa and Lews. For the money and quality KastKing is hard to beat. I save $18 on this rod from Walmart vs KastKing's site. I love it.

It broke on me so I dont really recommend
