So when I was in England, they had this fresh cheddar cheese they made with red wine. And it cost like 10 pounds for an ounce. But it didn't come with sliced almonds that cost more. Here you get the red wine with the fresh cheddar cheese and the almonds for a fraction of the price. I enjoy it like charcuterie. And I still pour myself a glass of wine. And have it with organic crackers.
Classic cheddar cheese ball rolled in pecan pieces. ****Purchase a 16oz pkg of great value cream cheese, a Kraft glass container of Old English cheese and a Kraft glass container of Roka Blue cheese and gently soften each in the microwave for 30-sec. Blend all 3 together in a mixing bowl and create a ball, cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge overnight. Create a firm ball and roll in pecan pieces or place your cheese ball directly on a serving plate and surround it with crackers and a cheese spread knife and serve. If rolling in pecan pieces wrap in plastic wrap for additional hour minimum and then serve. Allows pecan pieces to soften a bit.***
Excellent for a change of pace idea for a snack. I like this served on two Club crackers as a little sandwich. A little cheese goes a long way. Not bad to serve the little sanwhiches with some celery and carrots too. It's too rich to eat many and too rich to have often, but nice for a change
I recently started buying the sharp cheddar, clean label, spreadable cheese ball to have on crackers when I want a little snack and I haven't been disappointed. This cheese of a variety of flavors I've tried from sharp cheddar to the wine. Flavored cheese are very delicious creamy wonderful texture and spread easily on crackers. I find you don't need very much on the cracker to get a flavorful taste and enjoyment from it and thus it's not a lot of calories eating a smaller amount on the crackers. I really enjoy this companies cheddar cheese balls and I do highly recommend them to others whether for a personal snack for yourself to share with others or even for a gathering or party they really hit the spot.
My only complaint is the consistency of the product. Sometimes the color is lighter and had too many large almond slices. I usually have to look to find my preferred selection of this product. Lately it hasn't been avaliable. But otherwise it is my favorite wine cheese.
I took 1 star off because I don't care for the almonds and I like almonds. I wish they would just have this brands plastic tub of this exact cheese minus the almonds. I know they make it because I've had it before. It's great no need for almonds. The cheese itself is very creamy and tastes great on crackers. This cheese has been a family tradition for the holidays. We snack on this while cooking and hanging out until the holiday meal is ready.
Ok I've been buying this brand of cheese ball for years, I've tried every flavor and really like them all BUT... I noticed these got smaller and the price got bigger so this will probably be the last time I buy this special treat for myself. However if you want a tip... If you heat this ball for just a minute in the microwave it will spread so easy. You're welcome.
First of all, they shrunk the item so they could charge you the regular price and you don't get the same amount. It's still inflation and it has a bad taste. I didn't like it. It used to be maybe the size of a baseball or a little bigger now it's similar to 1 1/2 ping-pong balls.
Hadnt had one of these in a while. i wish i never had bought it. had dry heaves and diarrhea two hours after eating it on wheat thin crackers. i couldnt find best bought by or expiration date. i do not reccomend you buy this product.
This small package of cheese was horrible it tasted like plastic. It didn't even taste like cheese and the sliced almonds were also like plastic in consistency and flavor. I normally love this brand but this particular item was really awful.
