I have been searching for a small igloo and thought I was out of luck until finding this one! I had ordered two on Amazon and received large ones (misrepresentation of product). I tried eBay, and the seller said his was exactly what I wanted, and it turned out to be an itty bitty igloo... Doesn't look like Petco or PetSmart carry igloos anymore, so when I came to walmart.com, there it was! I received the small igloo before the expected delivery date--and am very pleased. Think I'll order another one because my meadow vole likes to chew out a backdoor, which is fine, but when she starts chewing the sides of the igloo, her house starts "sinking" in height! Good to have a spare handy.

I have a guinea pig and as all guinea pigs, he gets scared easily. And I admit that our family are not the quietest people. So, I feel good knowing that he has a nice house he can go into, to feel secure and stay warm. Also, since I am so obsessed with him, it's nice to still see what he is doing inside that igloo! I absolutely love this product and would recommend it to anyone who has a guinea pig!

i got the small one for my short haired hamster, Dusty, and he really enjoys it! he likes to grab a sunflowerseed or two from his food dish, runs up to the top of the igloo, then starts chowin down. then he does it again. and i like the fact that it is a little see through which makes it easy for me to view him while he is sleeping.

I purchased this for my chinchilla, Petey, so he would have a place to hang out in peace. The moment I placed it in his cage, he was investigating. He mainly uses it for sleep, but during the times he gets his bursts of energy, he'll run in and out of it, and then come to plead to me for a raisin. He also uses it as something to stand on, jump on, chew on, jump off, etc...The only thing he does NOT approve of is me putting bedding or anything else in there, especially right after a cage cleaning. He'll spend several minutes making sure every piece of bedding is out of there before he'll get in. Although that doesn't reflect the product itself, just his charming Type-A personality :) Anyway, I would certainly (and have certainly) recommend this product to others. They come in a variety of colours and sizes so finding the perfect one shouldn't be a bother. I, too, like that they're well ventilated, but not so much so that it takes away from the privacy. Well worth the bucks!

At my local petco they had the Glitter igloo's and since my guinea pig's cage is a berry colour I bought him the pink sparkle one because it was the closest colour. The normal size (or med) is perfect for guinea pigs! My babies have enough room to stand, turn and stretch out! They like to chew on the edges, which is kind of annoying because I want it to last longer... But I really like it and they can even climb on top of it! This gives so much more room than a Chube and can't be soiled like cardboard tubing.

Got this for my chin, thinking he would like a safe place to sleep. But at first he would wrestle it around his cage as if he didn't want it in there. Not sure he knew what it was for since the pet store I got him from didn't have anything for them to hide in. He has since decided he likes it better upside down and sleeps in it instead of under it. Works for me!

The large size was good for the guinea pig, however I got one for my gerbils in the store ( Not large size though) and they chewed it up ( Which could hurt them if they swallowed the plastic) So if it for a hamster or gerbil get a little wooden house my gerbils can chew and play and hide inside and they love it! So not for hamsters or gerbils.
