Kaytee Walnut Litter 18L

Great for my parakeet cages. They love it, especially my parakeet with only one leg. She has a difficult time on bars so I use thin cardboard with Walnut litter on top. It works out so well and easier to clean up after her in between major cage cleanings. My vet also endorsed the use of this for their cages.

I use a thin layer of this bedding on the bottom of my Nanday conure's birdcage. It's very similar to clumping kitty litter and easy to clean. You can use a strainer with small holes or slits to sift out bird seeds and solid waste between total cage changes. The one negative I found using this natural litter is if your bird loves to splash water like mine does and ends up soaking the litter. I found the substrate will mold if not picked up right away. It is important to keep up daily maintenance so your pet isn't exposed to this, which can impact their overall health. Having said all that, my Nanday is 40 years old, and I've used this product in his cage for the last 20 years. I am a satisfied customer.
